Outwardly, they look like ordinary flash drives with the mobile operator’s logo on the cover.

Let’s immediately make a reservation that the instructions are relevant not only for modems from MTS, but also for modems with firmware for any other operators, as well as for modems from other manufacturers. As an example, we took one of the most common models of 3G USB modems with MTS firmware - HUAWEI Mobile Broadband E1550. This model is widely used under the brands of the Big Three operators - MTS, Beeline and Megafon. We repeat, the instructions are relevant for any of them.
First of all, you need to open the modem compartment, where there are slots for a SIM card and a microSD memory card, and remove the MTS SIM card from it.
The IMEI number of the modem, as well as its serial number, is “hidden” under the SIM card. We are interested in IMEI. It must be written down on a piece of paper. It also doesn’t hurt to write down the manufacturer and model of the device.
Now we insert a working SIM card of any operator into the slot. It is advisable that an Internet tariff be connected to it. In our case, we used a Beeline SIM card with the Unlim tariff connected, which allows you to access the Internet from any mobile device without any traffic restrictions (no advertising). In addition, our “test subject” was removed from the smartphone. It has a micro format, so we use an adapter to give it a full-size format.
We close the cover of the compartment with the SIM card and insert our modem into the USB connector of the PC or laptop.
Next, we wait for the computer to “see” the new device and the autorun window opens.

Often, all providers use modems from one Chinese company, we are talking about Huawei. That is why below we will describe those utilities that are suitable specifically for such devices. Connect the MTS modem to a computer or laptop
The MTS modem looks like a flash card and is sold in a set with a SIM card. Before you start, you should make sure that the SIM card is the one that came with the gadget. Otherwise, the 4G modem will operate on a 3G network, and the data transfer speed will be lower than standard.

Today the company offers at least three 4G modems.

It is the last modem that we will talk about. It is noteworthy that the price of all three devices is the same regardless of the reception speed.
