Cleaning the registry

After any of the above devices are uninstalled from the PC, it is recommended to clean the registry of residual files. For this:

1. Hold down the Win + R combination and enter the command “regedit” without quotes and click “OK”. There is another way to get to the “Registry Editor”: right-click on the “Start” menu and select the “Command Line” or “Windows PowerShell” tool. In "Cmd" enter the code "regedit" and press "Enter".
2. In the “Registry Editor”, hold down the combination Ctrl + F: in the search bar that appears, enter the name of the remote application, for example, “USB-modem Beeline”. Tap on “Find Next”.

Internet for a day

Another useful option, which is provided for 24 hours, and is suitable for subscribers who use traffic occasionally. But at the same time, when ordering, it is automatically extended as soon as the device is connected to the network. For example, your phone needed to update the database for its antivirus program. In this case, the function will be automatically extended and funds will be debited from your account.

You can disable the option with command 67 or SMS with the text 670.

Removing drivers

After uninstalling the USB device, you may additionally need to remove the modem drivers. For this:

1. Go to "Device Manager" through the "Control Panel".
2. Go to the “View” tab: in the drop-down menu, activate the “Show hidden devices” option.
3. Find the “Modems” section, right-click on the unnecessary device and select the “Delete device” option. Repeat this action for hidden modems.

4. If for some reason hidden objects are not displayed in the manager, then you need to do the following: right-click on the Start menu and go to Command Prompt or Windows PowerShell. You can also hold down the Win + R combination and enter the command “cmd”. In the Registry Editor, enter the code “set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1” without quotes and press Enter.
5. Without leaving “cmd”, enter the command “start devmgmt.msc” - go to the “View” menu and activate the display of hidden objects “Device Manager”.
6. Restart your PC.

Complete removal of the function

It is possible to completely disable access using code 401. After sending the request, all services that operate based on data transmission via the World Wide Web, such as WAP, MMS, mobile TV, will be unavailable.

This method is suitable if the phone is black and white or you use exclusively Wi-Fi from a landline modem.

Through "Personal Account"

Another simple way is deactivation in your “Personal Account”. For this:

2. To completely block access to the network, open “Internet”.

2. Connect the device to the PC - in autorun, click on the “Run AutoRun.exe” option.
3. If autorun does not work, go to “My Computer” (for Windows 10 – “This Computer”), right-click on the device shortcut (may appear in the system under the names “MegaFon Modem” or “MegaFon Internet”). In the drop-down list, click on the “Open autorun” option.
4. The “User Account Control...” menu will appear on the monitor - click on “Yes”.

5. In the dialog box that opens, you need to specify the language - “Russian”, click “Next”, read the terms of the “License Agreement”, then click “I Accept”, specify the directory for unpacking the data (you can leave the default value) and click on “Next” . Click on the interactive “Install” button and wait until the installation of the MegaFon software is completed. At the very end, click “Done”.
6. After the installation is completed, literally in a minute the message “Installing device driver software” will appear on the screen - wait for the automatic software installation process to complete.
7. A shortcut called “MegaFon Modem” (or “MegaFon Internet”) will be created on the desktop - you need to launch it by double-clicking on the object with the left mouse button. You may need to enter your SIM card PIN and click OK.
8. In the upper left corner of the “MegaFon Modem” dialog box that opens, the 3G network signal level should be displayed - after the bars appear, you need to tap on the green “Connect” button. In MegaFon Internet, the signal level is indicated in the lower left corner of the display.

9. After the PC is connected to the Internet through the device, the application window will display the speed of the current connection in Mb/s: you can start surfing the web.
10. When you minimize MegaFon Modem, the program will continue to work in the background. To open the application window, you need to click on the tray icon located in the lower right corner of the screen on the taskbar, next to the language change section.
