In connection with the receipt of the status of regions of the Russian Federation by the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, their telephone codes had to be changed. The Ministry of Communications has made efforts to make this transition as smooth as possible.

In Ukraine, the country code was determined by two digits +38, the code of Crimean cities and other settlements was also determined by two digits 65, the code of Sevastopol was 69. Since the Russian code contains one digit +7, we had to add one digit to the code of settlements, but for convenience telephone users, it was decided to add it to the usual code. The new telephone code for Crimean settlements was turned into 365, and for the city of Sevastopol into 869.

The Ministry of Communications of the Russian Federation does not have the right to dictate to telecom operators the procedure for assigning telephone numbers, but it asked operators to find the possibility of preserving for Crimean consumers the telephone numbers that they had in Ukraine.

If the request of the Ministry of Communications of the Russian Federation is fulfilled, it will be easy for consumers to get used to the new numbers.

In the Russian Federation, mobile communications of the 3rd and 4th generation 3G and 4G are already used; in Crimea, an outdated communication system is still used.
