About the “Smartphone Standard” tariff from Vodafone: conditions, what is important to know

When is Super MTS turned off?

Of course, the shutdown process itself cannot happen instantly. Therefore, Vodafone has set very specific deadlines for subscribers to switch to other tariffs. Already, starting from 08/25/2017 to 10/15/2017, the old tariff plans will cease to exist.

A text message with information about the planned disconnection will be sent to numbers that are serviced under the terms of the Super MTS All-Network and Super MTS 100 minutes tariffs. This message requires very specific actions from the subscriber, namely, a transition to another tariff. Which TP is best to switch to, read a little below.

If the transition is not completed independently, the terms of service for the Vodafone Extra S subscription will automatically change.

What does the current tariff offer?

For MTS network clients, the introduction of the “Standard Smartphone” package coincided with the expiration of a number of outdated offers. Which no longer meet the modern requirements of subscribers.

In addition, since 2021, the tariff plan has become the pioneer of a line of offers under which the use of MTS Standard services has become available in conditions when they are really needed.

And although the offer is valid throughout Ukraine, it is most widespread in the territory. Such conditions have become ideal for Donbass, where there have been constant network outages lately.

In fact, using the services of this tariff plan is possible for a period of 1 zero. If necessary, subscribers can connect to the Vodafone “Smartphone Standard” tariff for Donetsk for only 24 hours. And renew for future use. If the subscriber is interested in the option of connecting services for more than 1 day, they can activate it for a month.

For which tariffs is it available?

  • Vodafone (MTS) Ukraine - “Smartphone Standard”: conditions and connection

Vodafone currently offers several telecommunications products in which this option is available:

  • SuperNet and Device lines;
  • Unlim 3G Plus;
  • RED EXTRA L.

Detailed analysis of the current plan

Starting in 2021, the operator Vodafone transferred its customers whose tariff plans were about to expire to “Smartphone Standard”. The transition conditions are described in an SMS message that is sent to each subscriber’s smartphone. Clients who did not meet these conditions could always change it to any other tariff.

The current tariff plan is relevant for the entire Vodafone coverage area in Ukraine, but given the current situation, it largely affects the territories of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

First of all, the tariff provides for the collection of a subscription fee in a fixed amount - 3 hryvnia daily.

This standard package includes the following set of services:

  • Internet in 3g and 2g format;
  • SMS and mms messages;
  • unlimited calls on the Vodafone network throughout Ukraine.

To use additional services, in addition to the standard set, you need to activate them. If you activate the service, you can contact foreign subscribers and save money.

All tariffs of the “Standard Smartphone” package are fixed:

  • the cost of 1 minute of conversation to other operators in Ukraine is 1.5 hryvnia;
  • SMS message to other operators - 1 hryvnia;
  • 50 MB mobile internet. Despite the fact that excess use of mobile Internet will be assessed at 5.00 UAH for every 100 MB of over-limit connection.

Service cost

Those Vodafone subscribers who have at least once activated a monthly package know that the cost of the service is equal to the cost of the standard top-up amount. Since to independently update the set of services included in the tariff plan, you need to have exactly as much money in your account as is required to pay the basic cost of the set for a month at Vodafone.

For example, when updating the Vodafone SuperNet Start package and connecting to a new package yourself, you should have 65 UAH in your account.

If the user does not have enough minutes or gigabytes in the tariff, he can re-activate the service package on Vodafone. As a result, the tariff plan will be completely updated, and the subscriber will receive the same packages as during the initial connection.

But it is important to consider that the mentioned service is not provided free of charge. The operator will not increase customer packages just like that. Therefore, in order not to encounter difficulties and not be denied service, before activation you need to check your balance in advance and top it up if necessary.

Who is it suitable for?

The main content of services in accordance with the standard MTS Ukraine tariff plan does not look as attractive as we would like. But this primarily concerns those who are accustomed to using mobile Internet from the Vodafone operator.

Of course, 50 MB of daily traffic is unlikely to satisfy an active user. But for those who use Internet resources in small volumes, switching to the tariff will be quite profitable. Because if you top up your account for a month, you can get 500 MB for the entire period.

For certain areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, where Vodafone communications may still be available, this tariff will be the only one available. This is due to the unstable operation of equipment in these areas.

Advantages and features of the tariff

For this tariff, as already mentioned, an important advantage is the possibility of unlimited use of the call service with Vodafone subscribers. The second important point is that the fee is written off daily, and it has a fixed amount. This allows you to adjust the volume of ordered services and plan Internet traffic.

Tariff plans for other packages provide for independent transition on the terms of other offers. Alas, this tariff does not provide such preferences for users in the occupied territories. Here this package has no alternative.

For those who tried to pay for MTS mobile communication services a year in advance, in connection with the transition to the “Standard Smartphone”, the unused amount will be returned. Or you will be offered to use services at a new tariff.

Important to remember! A subscription fee will be charged even if you have not used all the traffic.

Tariff line today

Despite the fact that the conditions of each of the 7 offers differed in cost, any tariff from the “Smartphone 3G” series, when the subscriber crossed the regional border, included charging for any calls within the network.

Today, the old prices have gone into the archives, as have regional restrictions.

All tariff plans, except for “Fine”, are available for migration throughout Ukraine and even practically do not differ in subscription fees.

The standard cost of almost all packages is 35 hryvnia per month, but if you activate the “Year without Monthly Fees” option and pay 360 hryvnia once, the monthly price will be 5 hryvnia less. Moreover, all offers come with combined unlimited limits; there is no need to activate anything additional. But, as in the original versions, today’s line has the most expensive tariff plan, and the cheapest:

  1. “3G” is a contract offer and will cost users 100 per month, but offers complete unlimited calls within the network, as well as 100 minutes to other networks and the same number of free SMS/MMS throughout Ukraine. Mobile traffic is 2.5 gigabytes, with the ability to add another 5 gigabytes, 500 MB at a time within a month from . When switching from prepayment, the first 3 months will cost 50 hryvnia each, and you can also get a 500 discount on the purchase of a smartphone or tablet.
  2. “3G Odessa” remains the cheapest of all - for 15 per month the subscriber receives unlimited communication within the network, the ability to call any landline numbers in Ukraine for 1.5 per minute, and to mobile phones for 50 kopecks, send messages for 1 UAH. /PC. throughout the country (after the end of 150 free SMS) and 3/piece to other countries. If you activate the “25 minutes to landline numbers” option, the conversation will cost 44 kopecks per minute. Traffic can be increased by 500 per month for 15 UAH, but no more than 10 times.

As for the other 4 tariff plans, they offer almost the same conditions:

  • free calls within the network throughout Ukraine;
  • 100 free messages for 200 kopecks per day, in case of sending the first SMS or MMS;
  • calls to numbers of other operators in the country for 5 kopecks per minute;
  • 500 megabytes of Internet monthly and up to 10 increases in traffic with the option “500 MB for 15 UAH.”

How to switch to a standard smartphone

For new subscribers, the transition to the Vodafone “Smartphone Standard” tariff occurs upon activation of a SIM card using a standard PIN code. For subscribers using other packages, the service can be activated using a simple USSD request. Just send the command - *101*901#.

The second option for activating the package is by directly calling 111 for free or 555 for a fee. Moreover, the first 20 seconds are free, and each subsequent second is paid at a rate of 50 kopecks.

How can I check my account and tariff plan package?

Using USSD requests, Vodafone subscribers can receive a lot of useful information, such as: the balance on the main and bonus accounts, the name of the tariff and the volume of services included in it, etc.

USSD codes for prepaid tariffs differ from contract ones.

Basic conditions

So, to summarize, it must be said that the tariff from Vodafone “Smartphone Standard” is basic for all subscribers in Ukraine. You can switch to another tariff, including , either independently or through an operator.

For certain districts of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, this is a non-alternative proposal. Switching to any other package is not possible. To transfer, use a standard PIN code or contact an operator.

The subscription fee will be charged automatically. For this tariff, only the fact of using communication on that day is not decisive for charging a fee. The fee is fixed - 3 hryvnia daily. There is no limit for calls on the network. To numbers of other operators, including landline phones - 1.5 UAH per minute.

You will have to pay for using the package monthly or use the daily payment procedure. This option applies to those who cannot use mobile communications throughout the month.

When using the mobile Internet, the package includes 50 MB of daily traffic; after using them, the fee is set at 5 UAH for every subsequent 100 MB.

Vodafone tariffs for Lugansk region

Other Vodafone Ukraine tariffs have also undergone some changes. However, there were no fundamental changes - they only affected the increase in the monthly subscription fee.

To choose the most profitable one among the presented tariffs, you first need to determine which services the subscriber will use most. Some people need to make frequent calls, others are interested in the opportunity to use the Internet unlimitedly, others use mobile communications only from time to time and do not want to overpay a monthly subscription fee. Each of these whims can be satisfied by one of the Vodafone tariffs in Ukraine for the Lugansk region.

Recently the following service packages have been available:

  • Vodafone Unlim 3G Plus;
  • Vodafone RED;
  • Vodafone Device.

The Vodafone RED and Vodafone Device lines also include separate tariff plans with advanced features and a more limited version.

Let's take a closer look at each offer from the operator.

Vodafone Unlim 3G Plus tariff

A special feature of the Unlim 3G Plus tariff is that it provides subscribers with unlimited Internet for use on smartphones and tablets. It should be taken into account that access to the network at maximum speed (about 42.2 Mbit/s) will only be available if you use no more than 3 GB per day. If you exceed this limit, the speed will be limited to 0.8 Mbps. This condition is intended to protect the network from congestion and ensure the prevention of commercial exploitation of data services.

  1. In addition to unlimited Internet, as part of the tariff, the operator allows you to make calls on the Vodafone Ukraine network free of charge without restrictions.
  2. The service package also includes 100 minutes for free calls to numbers of other operators in Ukraine. After this volume is exhausted, they will cost 20 kopecks. in one minute of conversation.
  3. SMS and MMS throughout the country will cost 20 kopecks. Sending a message abroad will cost 50 kopecks.
  4. Calls abroad are charged at 1 UAH. for a minute.

The full package of Vodafone Unlim 3G Plus tariff services costs 75 UAH. in 4 calendar weeks.

Vodafone RED tariff line

Vodafone RED tariff plans will be of interest to those who are active users of social networks. Each package, except RED XS+, provides free unlimited traffic for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, as well as text messages on Viber and WhatsApp.

In addition, as part of the service packages, subscribers receive:

  • in the RED XS+ tariff for 50 UAH . per month – calls on the Vodafone network without restrictions, 1 GB 3G/2G Internet, free 60 min. for calls to other operators in the country, 30 pcs. SMS and MMS within Ukraine, as well as calls abroad for 3 UAH. in a minute;
  • RED S for 70 UAH. – unlimited calls within the Vodafone network, 4 GB 3G/2G, free 75 min. for calls to numbers of other operators in the country and 25 min. abroad, 50 free SMS and MMS to any mobile operators;
  • RED M for 110 UAH. – unlimited calls between Vodafone subscribers and traffic on social networks, 8 GB 3G/2G Internet, free 105 min. for calls to other operators and 35 min. abroad, 70 package SMS and MMS to any direction;
  • RED L for 180 UAH. – full unlimited within the network and social networks, Vodafone TV broadcast, 12 GB 3G/2G Internet, 4 hours for calls to other operators and an hour and a quarter abroad, 150 free SMS and MMS.

Additional services in the tariff

Additional services included in the tariff include: The first service, after activation, allows you to contact subscribers abroad for free in the amount of 10 package minutes per day. This service must be activated separately. After the package minutes are used up, the cost will be:

  • European countries - 25 UAH;
  • in the Russian Federation - 2 UAH.

The GOODOK feature includes packages for occupied territories. It comes as a standard application and is available for free use for a week. Afterwards it is automatically extended, but the cost will be 3.19 UAH. for the next week.

To disable the service, you must follow the following procedure:

In 2021, when the name MTS was still there, I bought myself a Kyivstar package so that I could only make calls and you know, this is heaven and earth, as they say. Yes, I have a phone with 4G and supports any 4G standard, so here I am with old phone, switched to a slightly more advanced smartphone, but the Kievstar SIM card, in which the SIM card is intended only for calls, no, I didn’t throw the SIM card anywhere or in any store to replace it with a 4G SIM card, I didn’t change it, because I , on a smartphone, I don’t need 4G Internet, I just need calls, and I use the Internet only at home and only via WIFI, since everyone knows that WIFI has absolutely no restrictions on megabyte data, as on WIFI , you can use at least a billion gigabytes, and then the Internet will not end there and it will still work at the same speed as set by the Internet provider, and Vodafone, for example, with 4G, gives some measly 4 GB of Internet, after exhaustion of any, or the speed decreases very much, or in order to continue using it at normal speed, again, look for money and order new package data, and if, for example, a person currently does not have money to order the next megabyte or gigabyte data, then what then, use the Internet at low speed, which varies in kB, and as far as we all know, using the Internet, where the speed is in kB, is something you wouldn’t even wish on your enemy. Well, I bought Kyivstar in 2021, just a starter package for calls, which is interesting, when buying Kyivstar, you have a choice of which start package you want to buy (a simple starter package for simple calls, without any Internet and imposing unnecessary services, start package 3G and package with 4G), I know that I have a smartphone with 4G, but I’d rather use WIFI than these 3G, 4G, where they give very funny megabyte or gigabyte data, after which, after exhaustion, or use it at super low speed, which you wouldn’t even wish on your enemy, or again, look for money, top up with the required amount and order again a data package of Internet services. Now I have a regular SIM card in Kyivstar, for regular and simple calls, without any Internet and imposing unnecessary services on anyone, this is based on the fact that I have a smartphone with both 3G and 4G, but at the same time, I have WIFI at home, based on this, I don’t need the Internet, I’m at home, so we all use WIFI. So, according to TV shows that anyone who has a smartphone or tablet supports 4G, then you need to in any store that sells smartphones, tablets and other equipment, replace your existing SIM card for free with a SIM card that supports 4G, but as I said, I don’t need any 4G , outside the home, based on this, no one from the Kievstar company sends me any SMS about the need to replace the existing SIM card with 4G. According to my tariff plan, for example, you activated the SIM card on the 10th, which means the next month, you top up on the 9th numbers, since on the night of the 10th, the monthly subscription fee is charged, so, according to my Kievstar SIM card, you only need to top up the SIM card once a month with an amount of only 20 hryvnia, where after removing the monthly subscription fee, you have a whole month, until the next replenishment, replenish, do not replenish, if you call from KS to KS, then no one charges you anything, regardless of whether you make calls or not, and if you call from KS to KS, then for a whole month, you don’t have to think about replenishing your account, only if you need to call Lifecel (Life), Vodafone or Beeline, although 25 free minutes are given for calls to other mobile operators, I understand that 25 minutes is very, very little , but during these 25 minutes I don’t say everything, because I try to use only calls from KS to KS, or if you need to call another SIM card, another operator, then only when necessary and only to say something important, so I have count more than 20 free minutes, they always remain. At the moment, the tariff plan, the time before which it was possible to connect to the tariff plan that I use today has already expired and no one from the KS company is asking me to switch to another tariff plan or completely replace the SIM card with 4G. As for Vodafone, when they began, without any consent, to transfer people to tariff plans that the majority of the population don’t even need, I removed the Vodafone SIM card from the phone (formerly MTS, and even earlier UMS or SIM-SIM from UMS), I threw out the SIM card so that it whistled like a boomerang and under no circumstances, even for free, will I insert it into a Vodafone phone

On Friday, the Ministry for Temporarily Occupied Territories announced that the operator Vodafone Ukraine will not introduce special tariffs for residents of ORDLO. Allegedly, the company promised to recalculate and reimburse all expenses incurred by network users as a result of this decision, but this will happen only after Vodafone communications in uncontrolled territories are restored. However, in response to a request, the operator’s press service noted that the transfer of ORDLO residents to a non-alternative tariff with daily payment will still be carried out, reports Liga.net.

Let us remind you that on January 11, 2021, due to damage to telecommunication networks in the area of the settlement. Olenovka, Donetsk region and Shchastya, Lugansk region, the mobile network of the Vodafone Ukraine operator disappeared in the territory of ORDLO, where almost 2 million subscribers use the services of this operator.

In turn, on December 29, 2021, the operator Vodafone Ukraine officially announced that it would forcibly transfer all subscribers living in the occupied territory of Donbass to the “Smartphone Standard” tariff costing 3 UAH per day for unlimited calls within the network and 50 MB of daily Internet traffic. This news caused the expected indignation, since previously many subscribers in the region paid half as much for communications - about 40-50 UAH per month.

After some time, the operator Vodafone Ukraine met subscribers in ORDLO and returned to the tariff the option to pay the subscription fee for the entire month at once in the amount of 60 UAH. However, this was where the concessions ended and the operator confirmed that a forced transfer would be carried out, explaining the reasons for this decision.

“The company will not introduce new special tariffs, but the transfer of all subscribers in ORDLO to one of the previously existing tariffs - Smartphone Standard will be carried out,” commented the press service of Vodafone Ukraine.

As the company's support service previously reported, transferring subscribers to one tariff is associated with high costs. According to company representatives, remote servicing of subscriber numbers in unstable network conditions is associated with additional costs. In particular, more than a third of the base stations in ORDLO are already out of order.

But, as it turned out, there is another reason. According to the agreement between the Ukrainian operator (before the rebranding of MTS Ukraine) and the international Vodafone group, the former does not have the right to use Vodafone products in occupied or uncontrolled territories. Because of this, the company did not sell its tariff plans there under the Vodafone branding, and most residents of ORDLO used the old MTS tariffs.

But since subscribers still bought and transported Vodafone starter packs to ORDLO and used them, this created the preconditions for violation of the contract and potential imposition of fines for the operator. As a result, the company decided to restore order by transferring all ORDLO subscribers to one tariff during the first quarter of 2021.

“Naturally, we simply won’t be able to become Vodafone then. This is a mandatory requirement of the terms of the contract, the details of which I cannot disclose,” answered Oleg Prozhyvalsky, director of corporate governance and control of the company, when asked about the existence of fines.

As the manager said, the operator will automatically transfer to a single tariff everyone who ends up in the occupied territory with a Vodafone tariff. At the same time, when moving to a controlled territory, users will be able to change the tariff plan to any one available from the operator in this area.

It is interesting that the forced transfer of residents of ORDLO to a single tariff did not arouse suspicion among the NKRSI and the AMCU. Representatives of regulators noted that this process, from their point of view, is not a violation, which means that no measures will be taken against Vodafone Ukraine.

The tariff plan that was presented to Vodafone and MTS Ukraine customers in 2021, called “Standard Smartphone”. An ideal solution for users who do not often use mobile services and do not want to pay extra. Let's look at it in more detail.

How to call Vodafone operator?

The Vodafone company in Ukraine has introduced a separation of numbers by which you can call the support service. To find out how to call a Vodafone operator, you need to remember what type of service is assigned to the client.

Subscribers who have not entered into a contract and use prepaid communications, as well as customers who have entered into a contract, can contact the support service in the following ways:

  1. By calling 111. Calls from this mobile operator are not charged. It is not recommended to use this method from numbers of other operators - the call will be too expensive. If you don’t want to listen to a lot of unnecessary information, then before calling the operator on Vodafone, you can do the following:
      After dialing the number, the answering machine starts. You should not spend more than 1 second listening to it.
  2. Next, press button 3. The information in this section begins to be read out. Also, you don't need to listen to it for more than 1 second.
  3. After this, you need to press the 0 button and wait until the connection with the operator occurs.
  4. Those who do not know how to call the Vodafone operator from a landline number and not pay will need to remember the number 044-24-0000. This will be especially convenient for residents of the capital, who will not have to pay for long-distance calls.
  5. Via the Internet on the official website of the company.

If you are a corporate client, you can call the Vodafone operator using one of the following methods:

  • Call 044-24-0000-1. This number is intended for the company's key clients. These are considered corporations that have more than 20 numbers.
  • By dialing 044-24-0000-4. Customers who have up to 20 numbers from this operator should contact this number.
  • Using the online chat on the official website of the mobile operator, available to key clients.

How to connect a “Standard Smartphone” to your phone and its basic conditions

Undoubtedly, the biggest advantage of the provided tariff is the ability to use it throughout the day, paying for a day of use or paying for services immediately for a month. This tariff is beneficial for those who want to save their money. Paying only for the days of using the services provided for in the tariff.

To activate the service, you must use the following USSD command - *101*901#. Funds are debited from the account immediately after sending the request. This offer can be used by all mobile network users.

If you use all the Megabytes of the mobile network provided for in the tariff, you will be able to re-order the service without waiting for the expiration date. Or use the services for a daily fee, according to the tariff.

Why renew your service package?

The main reason that forces users to upgrade packages is due to the exhaustion of the existing call and Internet limit. Therefore, Vodafone Ukraine subscribers usually order additional packages out of turn:

  • after the available set of minutes has been exhausted;
  • at the end of the basic set of gigabytes.

But usually such actions are carried out when all available sets of services are close to exhaustion, since otherwise such an operation will turn out to be unprofitable; instead, it is more convenient to order an additional package of traffic or minutes. It will cost less than a complete upgrade of the tariff plan.

Combinations for activation

To restore packages to their original state, you need to:

  1. dial a short USSD command on your phone *101*444#;
  2. press the dial key;
  3. wait for the extraordinary withdrawal of the MTS Ukraine subscription fee;
  4. check the status of the tariff plan and the remaining minutes, gigabytes.

It is important to emphasize that this combination is universal and is used for all tariff plans, so there will be no difficulties in finding the right command.

Additionally, it is worth considering that the cost of the service is equal to the subscription fee. That is, when reconnecting the tariff, subscribers not only receive all the services provided for by its terms, but also make full payment.

For which tariffs is a package update available?

You can order a tariff plan update on almost any current Vodafone prepaid tariff, including the Device, Unlim and SuperNet lines. The main thing is that users have enough funds in their account so that they can withdraw the Vodafone subscription fee.

But, if the user doubts the availability of the option for his tariff, it is recommended to check the availability of service on the official company portal or in the My Vodafone mobile application.
