Types of forwarding

After connecting this option, the subscriber will be able to transfer incoming calls to any mobile, landline, long-distance or international phone.

There are three forwarding options available to clients:

  1. Unconditional. All calls are transferred to a third-party number by default. The service is suitable for MGTS clients who are temporarily leaving home but are afraid of missing an important call. It can be sent to a landline phone.
  2. When the line is busy. Calls are switched to a third-party number only if the main phone is currently busy. As a rule, a mobile number is indicated as an additional number.
  3. If there is no answer. If the subscriber does not pick up the phone for more than 20 seconds, the call will be redirected to another line.

MGTS subscribers are allowed to simultaneously connect to all types of forwarding, while “Unconditional” will always be used as a priority. In case of activation of the second and third type of service, the direction of call routing will depend on the state and load of the subscriber line.

The forwarding service is not provided to subscribers of corporate automatic telephone networks (PBX).

Unconditional forwarding

This subtype of service from Rostelecom is useful for users who do not want to receive any calls on their phone number. When someone tries to call you, the system will automatically redirect the call to another phone number (landline or mobile) that you specify in the request. Subscribers can also indicate the number of their special mailbox for receiving voice messages.

In this case, it will be impossible to call your current number. You will not receive any notifications about received or missed incoming messages. In order to activate the service on a mobile device, you must send a USSD request. To do this, go to the dialing screen on your smartphone or tablet and enter the following: “**21*number#”. The number should be indicated with the country code, that is, it begins with the characters “+7”.

How to activate

The procedure is the same for all types of redirection:

  • pick up the phone;
  • switch the device to tone mode;
  • dial one of three combinations corresponding to the type of service (*21*, *22* or *61*), the full subscriber number to which the call will be transferred, and the # key.

After the above steps, the user needs to listen to the signal in the handset:

  • continuous monotonous beep – activated;
  • shimmering signals or auto-informing phrase – not active;
  • Repeated short beeps – the combination has been entered incorrectly.

The telephone number for transferring calls must be entered in the following format: 8 495 XXX XX XX, 495 – city code, X – 7 digits of the subscriber number. When entering an international number: 8 10 (country code) (area code) (telephone number for forwarding).

In a similar way, you can check the presence of an active option if, for example, the subscriber does not remember whether he connected it or not. Instead of the combinations listed above, you must enter the following commands: *#21#, *#22# or *#61#. If there is a continuous beep in the handset, the activation was successful.

Usually the option connects without problems. Exception - the client does not have the right to use the service due to the lack of such technical capabilities.

How can forwarding from a landline be useful?
