Many owners of mobile devices have encountered unexpected withdrawals from their accounts for entertainment packages, which are often connected without the subscriber’s knowledge or by mistake. In order to save its users from such misunderstandings, Megafon is available.

Content account - what is it?

When you purchase a SIM card, you enter into an agreement with the operator, and you are assigned a main personal account - it is through it that by default the account is topped up and debited for all operations, including the subscription fee, services above it and paid subscriptions.

Along with the main personal account, you can open an additional, auxiliary personal account to pay exclusively for information and entertainment services. From the moment it is connected, subscription fees will only go from here, and if there is no money in the content account, then from nowhere at all - it is impossible to go negative on it, the service simply will not be provided. You can top up your content account by transferring from your main account.

The right to an additional (content) account is enshrined in Law of the Russian Federation No. 229-FZ “On Amendments to the Federal Law “On Communications”. The document obliges operators to create such an account at your request, but the operators carefully hide this opportunity - there is practically no information to be found on official websites. And all because from each partner who provides you with infotainment services, they receive a certain reward, practically without spending any effort.

Not only paid subscriptions, but also participation in polls, competitions and similar events can also be paid from the content account. At the same time, the money with which you top up your main mobile account will remain inviolable.

So, a content account is a way to protect yourself from unnecessary spending and uncontrolled debiting of funds for subscriptions that you connected by accident. After connecting an additional account, the money on the main account will only be spent on subscription fees and cellular services in excess of the package. Nothing extra!

Before creating a content account, it is recommended to find out if there are any subscriptions at all. Let us recall the commands for the main operators:

The essence of the problem

This category of services includes: paid SMS, watching videos, listening (not even downloading) audio products, subscribing to paid pages . But it is not a fact that an ordinary middle-aged person who often uses the mobile Internet cannot become a victim of such “legal” extortion of money.

How to connect a content account on Megafon

This operator is one of the few that has given quite detailed information about offering to open an additional account to pay for subscriptions, quizzes, games, pictures, ringtones and videos and top it up with the selected amount. Write-offs will not exceed the balance of the additional account. If there is not enough money, the service simply will not be provided.

Upon application by the user, the operator creates a separate account within 10 days and assigns it a virtual phone number, which can be replenished by any means - transfers from the main one, through a card or payment terminal.

You can check the balance of a separate content account using the command *100*103#.

After opening an account, provider services are paid only from here, with the exception of state and municipal services.

You should be aware that when you open a separate account, the “Content Ban” service is automatically disabled if it was previously activated. Now you can protect yourself from paid subscriptions only by limiting the amount on your additional personal account.

This is useful: the command *152*2# will help you view the list of subscriptions and unsubscribe.

An application for opening a content account can only be submitted at the operator’s office; a pre-filled form will help save time. Then wait for the SMS and top up your content account like a regular number (if desired).

How to connect a content account on Beeline

If you look for information about the Beeline content account on the official website, you will not find anything, because the operator calls this service “Cost Control”, and it is on this page that it offers to create an additional balance to pay for paid services, melodies, etc. . Connection and maintenance, as elsewhere, are free. If there are no funds on the additional balance, you will not be able to use the paid services of providers.

SIM blocking by calling the operator

One of the most reliable, but inconvenient ways to block a number is to call the Megafon customer support center. You can call the operator from a mobile number at 0500 or 88005500500.

After contacting the provider’s specialist, you need to voice your desire to block the SIM card. Here you need to understand that in order to avoid cases of fraud or an unpleasant prank, the operator will ask you to voice your passport data to identify the owner of the SIM card.
