Callers most often refer to voicemail as an answering machine. In fact, this service does not provide any automatic response. The essence of the service is that a call made to a phone that is temporarily outside the network coverage area is redirected to a voice mailbox. Redirection occurs automatically.

MTS voicemail is presented in the form of three convenient tools, each of which has its own characteristics.

The “Voicemail (basic)” version allows storing up to 15 notifications from each subscriber during the day. The duration of each message does not exceed 1 minute. Forwarding in this type of voice mail is set according to the “Unavailable” condition. You can set up other types of forwarding manually.

The functionality of the service is small, but it can be used in a large number of tariff plans. In tariffs with Internet access, use of the service is not possible.

The next version has more advanced functionality. In addition to simple work with messages, the ability to protect notifications from unauthorized access is added. Such protection is carried out through a code received in the form of SMS. The amount of time for which messages are stored longer than in the basic type of service. Listened messages are stored for 10 days, and unlistened messages are saved for 7 days. One subscriber can leave up to 20 messages, and the maximum notification duration is 90 seconds.

MTS voice mail also allows you to send voice notifications to an email/in the form of MMS, as well as listen to notifications through the web interface. Forwarding to the number +7(916) 8920-860 is automatically set according to the conditions “Busy”, “Not answering”, “Unavailable”. An incoming call is forwarded when the subscriber or telephone wait time exceeds 15 seconds. All default settings can be changed.

Voicemail+ is an enhanced version of the Voicemail option. In addition to the main function of storing voice notifications, the “Voicemail +” version allows you to hold a call with one subscriber to make a call to another subscriber. The latest version of the service provides the ability to use a smartphone application. Listened messages are stored for no more than 10 days, and unlistened messages are stored for no more than 14 days. The time limit for each saved message is 120 seconds.

The main difference between this version of voicemail and the previous one is that the “Voicemail +” version can be controlled by mobile device applications. Using the code, access to the message box is blocked. Automatic forwarding settings are similar to those in the Voicemail version.

The latest versions of voicemail have the ability to record a personalized voice greeting. To do this, just call 0860. Using voice prompts, you can change the access code to your personal voice box. A convenient way to change all voicemail settings is the web interface.

Sending SMS messages about received voice notifications is provided only in the last two versions. Such notifications are received on behalf of the subscriber who made the call. If the subscriber hides his number, the message comes from number 0860. The caller learns about the availability of the phone from a message that he will receive immediately after the phone “appears” on the network. If you do not want to use this option, disable it in the voice mailbox settings.

What is “Autoresponder”: description of the service

MTS offers its subscribers three types of answering machines:

"Basic Voicemail"

Includes a standard set of functions and terms of use. All received messages from senders can be stored for only a day and this does not depend on whether they were listened to or not. Only 15 records can be stored from one subscriber. The message duration limit is half a minute.

The basic answering machine does not have the ability to create a welcome message. You can listen to the received recordings only through the portal by dialing the command 0860. A basic answering machine is provided to MTS customers free of charge: free connection and free service. Calls to service number 0860 are free of charge. Thus, if you do not want to miss a single call or message, and do not want to spend money, then it is intended for you.

"Voice mail"

This service provides more features to users compared to the previous option. For example: all messages that have not yet been listened to are stored for a week, and listened to recordings can be stored for 10 days. 20 records can be stored from one subscriber. The recording duration limit is 1.5 minutes. You can also create a greeting recording that all callers can listen to.

This package includes the possibility of SMS notification. This means that you can check messages not only through the portal from your mobile phone. Notifications will also be sent by email or MMS message. You also have a web interface at your disposal, with which you can listen to recordings. Mail with messages is protected by a password that you set yourself, thereby ensuring the security of your data.

The price for this type of answering machine services is 2.3 rubles per day. Connection is free. There is no charge for calls to 0860.

"Voicemail +"

This is a more functional version in which all parameters are expanded. Listened messages can be stored for two weeks, unlistened for 10 days. The recording duration is limited to 2 minutes. A maximum of 30 entries can be stored from one sender.

The following functions are available within this option: creating a welcome message, SMS notifications, setting a password, managing storage through an application that can be downloaded from your phone’s online store.

The cost of the service is 3.3 rubles per day. Connection is free. There is no tariff for number 0860.

Attention: The cost is provided for subscribers in Moscow and the Moscow region. For residents of other regions, the cost may vary. Check the information on the official website of MTS.

Surely you have repeatedly encountered a situation where, during an outgoing call, after several rings, the phrase “Welcome to the MTS answering machine” was turned on. This means that the subscriber has voice mail enabled - an option that allows you to listen to audio messages from other users, which they can leave after an unsuccessful attempt to call you. MTS divided it into three variations, each of which has its own characteristics.

The advanced versions have other features that are not listed in the table. So, for example, the user can send the received message via MMS or to his email inbox. You can manage them through your personal account on the website or through the appropriate application for mobile phones. The latter is available only to users with a connected “Voicemail+” service.

How to connect an MTS answering machine

It’s easy to connect voicemail yourself; this is done as follows:

  • If you want to connect to the basic version of services, then dial *111*2919# or send a message with the text “ 2919 ” to number 111.
  • If you want to connect to the standard version , dial *111*90# or send a message with the text “ 90 1 ” to number 111. Note that there must be a space between the numbers, and there is no need to write quotes.
  • The most advanced version of the answering machine can be activated using the command *111*900# or by sending an SMS with the text “ 90 9 ” to number 111. As in the previous case, pay attention to the presence of a space between the numbers, quotes are not needed.

After any of the above actions, the option is automatically connected, and the subscriber receives a message with a code through which he can use his mailbox.

How to connect MTS Autoresponder

To connect to Basic Voicemail, use the USSD combination * 111 * 2919 # or send a message with the numbers “2919” to service number 111. The message is entered without quotes. After activating the option, all calls received on your switched off phone will be automatically forwarded to the number +7 916 892 0860.

To connect to Voicemail, use the USSD combination * 111 * 90 # or send a message with the numbers “90_1” to service number 111. The message is entered without quotes, instead of the “_” symbol you just need to put a space. After activating the option, all incoming calls will be automatically forwarded to +7 916 892 0860 if the phone was turned off, out of range, the line was busy or there was no answer.

To activate “Voicemail Plus”, dial the USSD combination * 111 * 900 # or send a message with the numbers “90_9” to service number 111. The message is entered without quotes, instead of the “_” symbol you just need to put a space. After activating the option, all incoming calls will be automatically forwarded to +7 916 892 0860 if the phone was turned off, out of range, the line was busy or there was no answer within 30 seconds.

Attention: The duration of subscriber waiting when calling can be changed in the personal settings of the option, for example, instead of 30 seconds, set to 15 seconds.

How to enable voicemail on MTS

You can connect the service in question in different ways, depending on the version of mail. For example, Basic option:

  • Using USSD code – *111*2919#
  • From your phone, send an SMS with the content “2919”, indicating the recipient’s number 111.

An improved version of the option can be activated in the same way. Replace the command with – *111*90#. And in the SMS indicate “90 1” – two codes separated by a space. Then you will receive an SMS with your email password. To enable the MMS notification system, you must send an SMS to the same phone number – 111, indicating “90 5” in the content. To switch notifications to an email, indicate “90 e-mail” in the message content.

The maximum version of the service is connected via USSD – *111*900#. Or SMS “90 9” to number 111. You can also activate the presented service in your personal account.

"Voicemail": general conditions

If you wish, you can record a greeting message with the name of the person calling you.

You can configure the service in the following ways:

  • Call 0890;
  • Via the web interface by following the link www.vm.mts.ru.

The connected answering machine will work in the following cases:

  • When the phone is turned off, for example, the battery is low,
  • When you are in a place where the phone has poor reception of signals and the subscriber cannot reach you,
  • When you haven't answered the call within 30 seconds (about 3-4 rings),
  • When the caller is on hold (secondary line).

Please note: Basic “Voicemail” does not work on “Connect”, “Online”, “Netbook”, “MTS iPad”, “MTS Connect”, “Business Connect” tariffs, as well as on tariff plans for landline numbers.


Method 2: via operator code

You can disable the voice mail service by entering the appropriate request. To do this, open the application through which all calls are made. In the dialing field, enter one of the following commands:

  • *111*2919*2# – for MTS;
  • *110*010# – for Beeline;
  • *105*3006# – for Megafon;
  • *121*1# – for Tele2;

Please note that these codes are only relevant for residents of Russia.

After entering the request, click on the handset to make a call. An automated robot responds to your request, but you should listen to its instructions very carefully. It is possible that you will need to press one of the keys to confirm that the service is disabled.

Autoresponder Settings

If you want to change the settings so that redirection occurs when there is a “no answer” signal, then enter the command: * * 61 * +79168920861 # . Checking status by command: * # 61 # . Disable: # # 61 # .

If you want to change the settings so that redirection occurs when there is a busy signal, then enter the command: * * 67 * +79168920861 # . Checking status by command: * # 67 # . Disable: # # 67 # .

To disable all codes, enter the command: # # 002 # .

Instructions for the Autoresponder service for iPhone

But here, in order to listen to voice messages via Megafon, you will have to do things differently. This service works using the “Visual Answering Machine” application available on the iPhone.

Pay attention to the first part of the program name: “Visual”. If in the case of “Who called +” the mailbox is virtual and its contents become accessible only after manipulating the auto-informer, then in “Answering machine for iPhone” we have everything before our eyes.

The functionality of the application allows you to view a list of messages, listen to each of them, and, if necessary, manage them - delete, save to your phone, call the sender back.

The application will automatically appear to you after connecting.

Megafon voicemail, how to listen to the recording through the application:

  1. Click on the “Phone” button.
  2. Switch to the “Autoresponder” tab.
  3. Select a message from the list.
  4. Press ► to make the recording play.

Please note: in the player through which you listen to voicemail on Megafon, the recording can be paused (▌▌ button) or rewinded (by moving the slider). Volume control is, as usual, using the buttons on the iPhone body.

MTS answering machine in roaming

This option is also available within international roaming. If you are outside the territory of the Russian Federation, you can also receive and listen to messages by phone number: +7 916 892 0860. Thus, the portal code is preserved, but the international format for entering “+7” numbers is added.

To optimize the cost of cellular communications in roaming, install the option “Voicemail: limit forwarding in roaming”. This option will suspend call forwarding when the phone is switched off, during busy signals, or when there are no answer signals while roaming. As soon as you find yourself in the Russian Federation, the service will be automatically activated and will continue to operate as before.

You can activate the roaming option using the command: * 111 * 92 #.

Since from the fall of 2021, the “Voicemail: forwarding restrictions in roaming” option is installed simultaneously with the activation of “Basic Voicemail”, when traveling abroad, determine whether you need an answering machine. If you want to continue receiving recordings while abroad, please disable the restrictive roaming option.

You can disable the roaming option using the command: * 111 * 920 #.

Details

There are three ways to connect/disable the service:

  • dial *111*90# on your mobile phone;
  • send an SMS with the text 90 1 to number 111 (to turn off the text 90 2 );
  • use the My MTS service.

After activating the service, you will receive an SMS with an access code to your mailbox. A passcode keeps your voicemail secure, protecting your messages from unauthorized eavesdropping and deletion by others.

For additional information on the service, dial *111*9000#, then select the menu item you are interested in.

The “Voicemail” modification is mutually exclusive with the “Voicemail+” modification. If you want to connect a service with advanced capabilities, you do not need to first disable the existing service yourself and only then connect another - when you connect the “Voicemail+” modification, the “Voicemail” modification will be disabled automatically. If you want to switch from “Voicemail” to “Voicemail (basic)”, you must first disable the “Voicemail” modification yourself and only then enable the “Voicemail (basic)” modification.

When the service is deleted, all messages stored at that moment in the voicemail box are deleted and will not be automatically restored when the service is reconnected. This change will allow you to avoid uncontrolled deletion of messages.

You can listen to received messages in any way convenient for you:

  • dial 0860 (in the region where the phone number is registered);
  • listen to the voice file in the MMS message;
  • listen to the voice file in the email received;
  • use the web interface of the service at https://vm.ssl.mts.ru/ (authentication in the Voicemail service is possible through the My MTS service using the login password from the My MTS service)
  • call the public number +79168920860 (in national and international roaming);

These options are available only when the “Voicemail” modification is connected; when it is disabled, the options are automatically deleted.

To enable and configure the “Voicemail to e-mail” and “Voicemail via MMS” options, go to the service’s web interface and in the Alerts settings section, put a V (“Check”) next to the type of notification you need.

To receive sound files by email, enter the email address you need.

There you can set the time interval for receiving messages

When you activate the service, incoming calls will be automatically configured to be forwarded under the conditions “Not answering”, “Unavailable” and “Busy” to a single number +7 9168920860.

This means that calls to your number will be automatically forwarded to your inbox if the phone is switched off, busy, or unanswered for more than 15 seconds. If necessary, you can independently set up forwarding for any event. In this case, call forwarding that was set automatically under the “Unavailable” and “Not Answering” conditions will cease to operate.

How to disable answering machine on Megafon

  1. You can contact the nearest Megafon branch with a request to disable the service.
  2. Another way is to dial *105*1300# from your phone. In response, you will receive a message indicating successful disconnection. You can check the service status by *105*13#.
  3. You can use the interactive menu *105# and disable the service in the appropriate section.
  4. Through the user’s personal account or the old version of Service Guide.
  5. By sending an SMS to number 000105 with the text 1300.
