Traffic volumes and speed

The “Internet-VIP” option on MTS, after connecting to its main tariff plan, provides the subscriber with 30 GB of traffic for use during the day and unlimited night time. Night time means using the Internet from 00:00 to 07:00. The speed when using this option is not limited until the declared volume is exhausted and depends on the capabilities of your device and the quality of communication in the place where you use the Internet.

If 30 GB is not enough for you, then as part of the option, the subscriber is automatically provided with additional packages of 3 GB each, but no more than 15 times a month. The user can manage additional packages independently - by disabling or connecting them.

Additional packages are provided only when the main traffic quota limit of 30 GB is reached. After all additional packages are exhausted, Internet access is suspended, but when disconnected, the subscriber will be able to use the “Turbo Button” function.

If you want to find out how much more data from the Internet is available to you in the current reporting month, use one of the following methods:

  1. Enter *111*217# on the dialing screen. This is a standard command for obtaining information about the current account status. Balances will be indicated in a pop-up text message.
  2. Create a new SMS message, the text of which consists only of the “?” character. Send it to number 5340. Within a couple of minutes, a message with the requested information will be sent to your device.
  3. Use “My MTS” or “Personal Account”. Basic information about the account status is always indicated on the main page or screen after authorization.

To refuse the automatic debiting of funds to accrue an additional 3 GB of traffic, send a message with the number 1 to 1660. If in the future you decide to restore the automatic addition of traffic, send the number 2 to the same short number.

The “Internet-VIP” option can be activated on all tariffs from MTS, with the exception of such plans as “SMART mini”, “SMART”, “SMART+”, “SMART Nonstop”, “SMART Unlimited”, “iPad”, “SIM” , the entire line “Online”, “Cool”, “Caring”, “Mayak”, “1-2-3”, “Personnel X5”, “400 for 600” and “1000 for 1300” and all their variants.

This option does not work and is mutually exclusive with the following MTS options: “Internet Mini”, “Internet Maxi”, “Internet Unlimited”, “BIT”, “SuperBIT”, “MTS Tablet”, “Unlimited Start”, “Budget” Unlimited", "Unlimited Online", "Internet Lawlessness", "Internet Super", with packages "Connect-100", "Connect-250", "Connect-500", "Connect-1000", "Connect-3000" ", "Bonus Connect-200" and any of their variants.

If the “Internet-VIP” option is available, the “BIT Smart” and “SuperBIT Smart” options are not available for connection. If the “Internet VIP” and “Mini BIT” options are available, the conditions of the “Internet VIP” option apply.

In the event that at the time the monthly payment is written off there are not enough funds on the balance to pay it off in full, then payment will be charged daily in the amount of 35 rubles per day for regional subscribers and 52 rubles per day for subscribers in Moscow and the Moscow region until there is enough money the account will not be sufficient to pay the full fixed monthly payment amount at one time.

  • 30 Gb of traffic during the day,
  • Full unlimited at night - from 01:00 to 07:00,
  • Availability of the “Unified Internet” function, with which you can connect up to five devices to one package at a cost of 100 rubles. per month,
  • When you activate the option, you will be given a discount on digital television in the amount of 50% of the full cost.

Thus, it turns out that unlimited is present, but only at night. Therefore, subscribers are interested in how it works at night, when traffic is not taken into account, because we often have to deal with deception or tricks on the part of cellular operators. Judging by the reviews of subscribers who tried “Internet-VIP” at night, it works quite quickly, speed differences rarely occur.

There are no restrictions on the use of torrent clients and when distributing the Internet via wireless networks. There is only one drawback, speed differences, but this is a very uncritical drawback. You can connect to Internet VIP using the USSD combination: * 111 * 166 * 1 #. This is the fastest and easiest way to connect.

If the daily traffic has been exhausted, then you should install an additional package with the Internet “Turbo Button”. This option will allow you to extend your Internet at high speed. There are 5 types of “Turbo buttons”:

Additional complications and restrictions

For technical reasons, in some cases switching to night unlimited does not occur automatically. Therefore, the mobile operator advises you to independently interrupt and resume the session at the onset of the night period (after 00:00).

On the territory of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, subscribers for whom it is not their home region receive a connection speed limit of 128 kbit/s when accessing the basic package. Internet access is not provided for additional packages here.

This service is not designed for use in modems, so errors appear when trying to connect to the network through them. If you need a profitable option for accessing the Internet via a modem, pay attention to the corresponding offers from the operator.

During one billing month, you can activate no more than 15 additional packages. After this, access to the network will be limited. To restore it, MTS recommends using options from the “Turbo Button” line.

How to share traffic

Do you want to use one Internet package on your smartphone, tablet and modem? Or do you want to share traffic between family and friends? The “Unified Internet” function will help you with this.

Mobile data can only be distributed to devices with MTS SIM cards that are located in the subject of the communication agreement.

The option allows you to create groups of subscribers who will be able to use your package. You can distribute the Internet to only 5 participants, including the initiator. The group creator can control the traffic consumption of each user by setting personal quotas.

You can create a group on the operator’s official website. Log in and go to your personal profile. In the appropriate section, indicate the telephone numbers of the users with whom you want to share data transfers. Next, each participant must confirm their consent to participate in the option using a free SMS or through the website.

The invitation is valid for 15 minutes. If you do not confirm participation within this time, you will need to resend it.

Only the group creator will pay for the shared traffic. In addition to the main payment, an additional amount is charged for the first participant - 100 rubles per month. Other subscribers join for free.

The option can be used while traveling around the country, and additional payment for roaming is charged only to the initiator of the group.

How to get/connect/take part in MTS “Premium service”

Since the service is for “VIPs,” your desire alone is not enough to connect to the service; you need to meet certain criteria that MTS imposes on clients.

To be included in the MTS “Premium Service” program, the subscriber must “fulfill” or meet at least one of the following conditions:

  • Spend at least RUB 1,000 per month on communication services for six months in a row. This is not only a subscription fee according to the tariff, but also various additional services and options.

Here I will add a “fly in the ointment”, like a subscriber who is a VIP quite often: the number is not separate, but dedicated. Calls on it are simply automatically placed ahead of the rest of the queue. This is good from the point of view of dialing speed, but bad from the point of view of the fact that if 0890 does not work at night (see my video about this below), then you cannot get through to 0605 from 22:00 to 8:00 in the morning.
