We have already written about easy ways to get through a person by phone number, and you can also read about methods of medium complexity here:
- How to determine geolocation by phone number?
- How to find a person with only his phone number?
Now we are moving on to technically complex methods of how we can look for people who are hiding, with whom the situation is quite difficult.
Determine the address by phone number through telephone directories
It is possible to determine the address of the calling person using a landline phone number only if you have good endurance. We pick up the bulky telephone directory of local subscribers and begin to look through it inside and out. The larger the city, the less likely it is to find the necessary data. In big cities there are many subscribers, so searching will be difficult. But in general, we were able to find the right person solely by home phone number - for a city with a population of 60 thousand people, the search time was almost four hours.
There are online telephone directories on the Internet. It is difficult to judge their relevance, since sometimes they contain extremely ancient information. But some people do not change their place of residence or their phone numbers for years - we can find them. Select any suitable directory (there are dozens of them on the Internet), specify the city, perform a search and receive the subscriber’s data along with the address.
Remember that data in modern directories is entered only with the consent of the subscriber. No consent - no information.
Whose number?
The first four digits of any number are a full-fledged identifier by which you can find out where it was registered. All Russian numbers begin with the international code +7. The next 3 digits are called a prefix or DEF code; in most cases, each operator has its own (although there are exceptions) and is divided by region. Knowing the prefix, there is a good chance of determining which operator the owner uses and where he received the number. And now about specific codes in more detail.
Find out the address through purchased number databases
A telephone number database will help you find out an address by phone number. You can buy them on message boards and all sorts of dubious forums. Why doubtful? Yes, because the distribution of such databases is a criminal offense. We question the relevance of 99% of all databases distributed on the Internet. It was possible to find workers, but more than 10 years ago. It was impossible to find relevant and free ones. I didn’t want to buy it.
Searching for a subscriber's address by his number through such databases is an interesting, but dubious pleasure. It is unlikely that anyone will sell up-to-date information for pennies. Therefore, hundreds of scammers operate in this field - they sell “products”, generate positive reviews in order to attract people to buy in every possible way. And after payment, buyers are left with nothing. There is no use in complaining - scammers are well encrypted.
Detailing with base stations
There is a separate article for details: Mobile phone billing, details and subscriber tracking.
If you have detailed data with base stations on your hands, then this is excellent food for analysis and thought.
Firstly, you see the location points, for example, you see that, as a rule, in the evening a person is located there. These are again approximate coordinates, because there is a triangulation of several base stations, where one has a slightly stronger signal, the other a slightly less powerful signal.
But roughly you already understand that in the evenings a person is in a certain square, and during the day he is, as a rule, at work.
Plus, other subscribers with whom the object communicates become available to you, and this gives you excellent food for further social engineering.
If you see, for example, that a person constantly uses water delivery, then you can always call and say: “Hello, I constantly order water from you, my name is Ivan Ivanovich Ivanov,” introduce yourself as the object and say that you have moved and would like to clarify , what address you have in the database, new or old. The water delivery person, without worrying at all, can answer, saying, yes, we have the address: st. Lenina, house 1. That's it, you have received this information and know the address.
In this way, by analyzing those people with whom the object communicates, you can extract the necessary data using the method of social engineering.
Detailing with base stations is a great power that made it possible to calculate and identify a huge number of scammers, criminals, various scoundrels who were hiding, but still continued to use cellular communications.
Specialized Resources
Finding an address using a mobile phone number is an almost impossible task. Someone may object - they say, the Internet is full of special resources for finding such information. They work, but do not provide the necessary information. Here we can find:
- Operator name by phone number;
- Regional affiliation;
- Data from collectors and banks;
- Here you can easily identify numbers belonging to plastic window installers, microfinance organizations, foreign investment companies (they call and offer to engage in the resale of securities) and other companies (including dubious ones). It is impossible to find the address of a regular subscriber here.
Some resources say that they can determine not only the address, but also the location of the phone. We conducted an experiment - installed a SIM card in a simple phone, turned it on and entered the number. The system allegedly established a connection with the phone and “determined” its location (oh well!). She even detected that Wi-Fi was turned on, although it was an ordinary MTS handset with a QWERTY keyboard. Next, the location of the phone was indicated on the map and the resource offered... to pay money to obtain information.
We did not pay anything for three reasons:
- The phone does not have Wi-Fi, but the system considered it to be a smartphone (a serious mistake).
- The real location was 400 kilometers from the found one.
- Entering random numbers always produced the same results.
Remember, none of these resources work. It cannot work - determination of coordinates is possible only with the consent of the end subscriber (within the framework of geolocation services from cellular operators). We won’t talk about the possible installation of spyware.
"Megaphone"
It boasts no less variety of codes. The old prefixes of this operator start from 920 to 928 depending on the region, and the new ones - from 929 to 939. But that’s not all, MegaFon subscribers can also get 902, 904, 908, 950, 951 and 999.
As for the territorial reference of popular prefixes, it is as follows: 925, 926 - Moscow and the Moscow region, 921 - the North-Western part of the country, 922 - the Urals, 920 - the Central part and the Volga region, 923 - Siberia, 924 - the Far East, and 929 can be found everywhere.
Looking for information through search engines
Simple human recklessness will help you find an address by phone number. For example, when the person you are looking for managed to “expose” his place of residence on some Internet sites (no need to do this). But with organizations, everything is much simpler - their details are public, so nothing prevents you from going and finding the address of a company by entering its mobile or landline phone number in the search bar.
In the case of organizations, specialized enterprise directories will provide assistance in the search. They indicate the maximum amount of data - addresses, numbers, nature of activity, production addresses, legal addresses, data for sending correspondence and much more. Enter the phone number you are looking for here and receive complete information obtained from open sources.
MTS
The belonging of a particular number to MTS can be determined by several groups of codes. The operator's old clients got the range from 910 to 919, while new ones have a little more variety - 901, 902,904, 908, 950, 978, 980-989.
Moreover, MTS codes are strictly tied to regions, so it is easy to determine in which part of the country the owner is registered: 916, 985 - Moscow and the Moscow region, 911 - Northwestern part of the country, 987 - Volga Federal District, 978 - Kuban, 918 - Southern part of the country and the North Caucasus, 912, 982 - Ural, 913, 983 - Siberia, 914, 984 - Far East, etc. A more detailed list can be easily found by searching on Google.
With the help of law enforcement
You can contact the police with such a question only if the person who owns the number has committed a crime or is annoying with calls. Take your passport with you and go to the nearest branch. Tell the duty officer that you want to write a statement - he will refer you to the right specialist. Here it is necessary to put on paper the whole essence of what is happening. Please note that the police will not give you the address of the criminal/suspect. She will deal with it on her own, even with your participation.

Flash
Professionals call this method flash. In essence, this is a one-time determination of the approximate location of a mobile phone. This service exists, it is provided by private detectives and other specialists, and, of course, law enforcement agencies have this opportunity.
This is one-time, that is, we receive information about the approximate location of the phone at a certain specific point in time. This is why, if we want to establish a location, the most pragmatic way to establish a location is to flash at night or early morning. With a high degree of probability, the person is still at home and does not know that his location is currently being calculated.
The disadvantage of this method is the radius. People often ask: what is the accuracy of flash? So the accuracy varies, it depends on the degree of concentration of base stations in a particular area. For example, if there are a lot of towers crammed into the city center, then the accuracy will be high, within 50–100 meters, but if a person is somewhere outside the city, and there is one unfortunate half-broken tower on the roof of an agronomist, there may be an error be kilometers and tens of kilometers.
The flash itself, as a rule, does not produce results; we do not receive an address, but only a square. As a rule, professionals who conduct a search combine the flash with other data on the object. For example, with addresses that are already in development.
Or, let's say we know the car this person uses. Then you can simply send an operational search group around the square with a specific task to find and locate or set up and wait at the car that the object is being used.
The number is fixed - what next?
Once you have identified the bully's number, you can:
- add it to the “black list” of your phone, if there is such an option in its settings;
- connect Beeline so that he can no longer reach you;
- visit the Beeline office and file a complaint against the owner of this number.
Connection will cost only 1 ruble per day or 30 rubles for a whole month. To do this you need to type:
- command *110*771# to connect the “Black List” to your Beeline number;
- command *110*770# to disable the “Black List”;
- command *110*771*unwanted_phone number# to add the number to the “Black List”;
- command *110*772*unwanted_phone number# to remove a number from the “Black List”;
- command *110*773# to view the list of entered numbers.
In addition, you will be able to view calls received from those on the Black List by dialing *110*775# , but this service will cost 5 rubles for each view. You can add up to forty numbers to the list, not only mobile, but also landline (long-distance) and even international.
Is it possible to find a person by phone without his consent?
The answer to this question is clear - a subscriber cannot be tracked without his consent. Any transfer of coordinates from the device is possible only subject to personal permission and feedback from the subscriber. At the moment, there are simply no services/programs/scripts that can unilaterally track a person’s location. Only the telecom operator has permanent access to the subscriber’s geolocation, but this data will never be provided upon a routine request from a third party.
Popular applications (Google, Yandex, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) also monitor a person’s movement, but this conditional surveillance is protected and provided to programs only with the consent of the device owner.
There are also a lot of scammers operating on this basis, offering paid programs and services that will broadcast the subscriber’s geodata without his consent. Don’t even think about falling for these tricks, as you risk losing several hundred rubles, at a minimum, and at a maximum, exposing your data to third parties.
If you independently installed a tracking application on someone else’s phone, which the subscriber does not know about, this is a violation of the laws of the Russian Federation and threatens to initiate criminal proceedings.
