The procedure for flashing Tele2 Mini firmware is still rather a mystery. Budget devices have recently appeared on sale, but have gained popularity in their segment. The phone has optimal characteristics for staying in touch and good software. But some owners are already saying that it would be a good idea to flash the gadget.
Typically, Tele2 mini firmware is needed when the user wants to switch to another mobile operator. But like many budget smartphones from providers, they are configured only for SIM cards from Tele2. You won't be able to insert another SIM without changing the software.

Appearance and dimensions
Externally, Tele2 Mini is similar to many other budget devices. You won't see any extravagant design techniques here. The edges are neatly rounded, there are no right corners or rough lines. The body itself is made of hard plastic. Along the sides there is an insert painted bronze (for the black base color) or silver (for the white base color of the case). The back cover has a textured surface consisting of very small squares. Due to the texture, the smartphone does not slip out of your hands. That's a plus.
The polymer glass that protects the display shows fingerprints, dust, etc. There is no oleophobic coating here.
On the front side of Tele2 Mini there is a light sensor, proximity and position sensor. There is also a speaker for voice calls. On the right is the front camera. It can be used to communicate via VoIP, as well as Skype. The central place is occupied by a 4-inch screen. Below it are three touch control buttons.
The power and screen lock button is on the right side. The volume key is on the left side. At the top end there is a connector for connecting a microUSB interface cable, as well as an audio output for a wired headset. There is a microphone on the bottom edge.
The camera lens is located on the back of the device. There is also an LED flash that can be used as a flashlight.
At the very bottom there is a speaker for playing external sounds and music. It is quite enough to hear the call. Problems may arise if your smartphone is at a decent distance from you, or in the pocket of winter clothes. But this is typical for all smartphones.
The back cover is attached securely. It is quite difficult to remove it (there is a special slot in the lower part on the side), the fastening is very rigid. There is no play or creaking. Under the cover there is a battery and three slots - two for SIM cards (both for standard-sized SIM cards) and one for a microSD card.
The direct production of the model is carried out by the Chinese company Haier Electrical Appliances Corp., Ltd. The assembly of the device can be rated a solid five. During the test, I did not detect any creaks or play in individual parts.
Basic equipment
The smartphone comes in a black box with white markings. It must indicate the model, mobile operator and 3G icon. The standard kit includes a phone, instructions for its use and a charger with a universal microUSB cord. The cable can be used to connect to a computer.
In the reviews you can find information that a headset comes with the smartphone, but it is of very low quality. Headphones make it possible to hear your interlocutor and listen to music, but for comfortable use it is better to buy others.
The white and black Tele2 Mini smartphone has a stylish and laconic design. Below the screen there are three touch buttons. The case has rounded corners , which makes it comfortable to hold.
The back panel is made of high-quality matte polymer. It is pleasant to the hands and has an anti-slip effect. The device is convenient for left-handers, as there is a microphone on the bottom edge. It is slightly offset to the side, but during a conversation your hand will not cover it. At the top of the gadget there are connectors for connecting a cable and a headset.
There are no gaps between the parts, the back panel fits tightly to the body. It depicts the Tele2 corporate logo. At the bottom there is a speaker. There is perforation for unhindered passage of sound. At the top there is a peephole for the camera and flash. On the side edge there is a volume control button.
Screen. Graphics capabilities
Tele2 Mini has a 4-inch diagonal screen with a resolution of 480x800 pixels. It is made using TFT technology. The picture shows that the simplest display is used here. However, the image is quite adequate, colors, contrast and brightness are at a sufficient level. Viewing angles are not the greatest. When deviating from the normal, the picture begins to change colors. Considering the price, the screen is quite functional. For its target audience – very much so.
There is no automatic brightness adjustment here; it can be configured in the corresponding section of the menu. The device perceives touch normally, there are no problems with sensitivity.
In the sun, the image on the screen fades greatly, but texts and useful information can be read.
Communications
The owners did not notice any problems with data transfer, and sometimes a thoroughbred smartphone in some basement refused to catch the network, unlike Tele2 Mini, which, albeit with pauses and slowly, continued to work. The manufacturer promises a theoretical maximum data transfer speed of 21.6 Mbit/s, but in fact it was not possible to squeeze out more than 13 Mbit even next to the tower.
As for Wi-Fi, there are no complaints here - the network works without problems or losses: the sensitivity is average, as is the range.
Hardware platform: processor, memory, performance
Tele2 Mini runs on a dual-core Mediatek MT6572 processor with a clock frequency of 1.3 GHz. RAM is only 512 MB. By today's standards, memory is not enough, but for the most budget option this is a kind of standard (let's not forget about the low cost of the device). Built-in memory – 4 GB, about 1.75 GB of which is available to the user. For this reason, music lovers can purchase a microSD memory card along with their smartphone. There is support for cards up to 32 GB.
Overall performance impression could have been worse. I was expecting a much slower interface, but the developers, apparently, have optimized the firmware so that it does not freeze. In fact, the device runs smoothly without any lag with most applications. Exceptions may include games, browser, streaming services, video.
Advantages and disadvantages of the model
Despite its low cost, the smartphone has a sturdy body. It survives falls on asphalt, floors and other hard surfaces. The gadget is resistant to scratches, cracks and chips.
All system applications will work without failures.
The Tele2 Mini smartphone costs about 2 thousand rubles, the price depends on the region of sale. The advantages of the model include support for a third generation network and the ability to install a memory card. Another advantage is the ability to work in autonomy mode for up to two days. A nice addition is the ability to listen to the radio. Official support services will promptly fix any device failures.
The disadvantages of the gadget include a small amount of RAM and a weak processor. All this together greatly limits the choice of applications. But the low price with wide functionality completely compensates for the disadvantages of the device.
Communication capabilities
Tele2 Mini operates in second and third generation mobile networks. The maximum speed for downloading files on a 3G network is 21 Mbit/s. The device has two SIM card slots, both of standard size. One of the slots supports Tele2 SIM cards, the second – SIM cards of any operators.
It is worth noting that there is only one radio module in the smartphone. This means that when you call to an inactive SIM card, your interlocutor will not reach you. There are standard settings for working with mobile Internet (only one SIM card supports 3G). I had no comments regarding the performance of mobile communications during testing.
Among the wireless interfaces, I note the presence of Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth version 4.0. There is GPS navigation.
Summarizing
In terms of the totality of its capabilities, qualities and functionality, the device more than earns its money’s worth. Take the same 4-inch screen, which these days is simply doomed to popularity. If you are not satisfied with something in the “Tele2 Mini” for 2000 rubles, then you can always exchange it for some iPhone with a “small” surcharge.
An almost identical analogue in our market is the smartphone from MTS Smart Start 2, but it costs one thousand rubles more. So if you do not have serious demands on your phone and you need an ordinary “dialer” with the basic capabilities of smart gadgets, then “Tele2 Mini” is a very good option.
Battery life
The smartphone has a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 1500 mAh. Up to 3 hours of talk time, up to 3.5 hours of work from a 3G network are stated. Under testing conditions, with a number of calls of 40 - 45 minutes per day, Wi-Fi always on, browsing the Internet for about 1.5 hours, working with social networks and online applications, listening to an mp3 player through a headset for about 2 hours, the device worked for 1. 5 days. With less intensive use, it is possible to achieve a working life of 3 or even 4 days. For example, if you do not use the mobile Internet and still make calls, the phone will work for 3 days.
The screen and camera consume the battery the most - I watched a couple of videos on YouTube, took several dozen pictures, read a rather long text on a news site and up to 15 percent of the charge was gone. If you wish, you can buy a spare battery, however, snapping off the cover every time to replace it is a dubious pleasure.
The battery takes only 1.5 hours to charge, a little longer from the computer.
How to reset Google account on Tele2 mini
When the user is not in a hurry, you can simply wait 72 hours and restore the account in the standard manner. But usually everyone uses more efficient methods.
- Insert the memory card, click “OK” in the message that arrives. The memory settings window opens. Next, select “Application Data”, “All”, “Settings”, “Startup”, “Backup and Reset”. After the reboot, you no longer need to use the linked Google account.
- Insert a SIM card, call somewhere, click add call, and turn off the call. Next, enter the number *#8#4636#*#*. In the settings that open, you need to press the back arrow, and then the user goes to the template settings. In “Restore and reset,” the link to the Google account is disabled and the credentials are cleared.
Flashing your phone's firmware yourself is not a safe matter. It is better to do this officially, through a communication salon.
User Interface and Operating System
Tele2 Mini runs Android 5.1 Lollipop. The gadget does not have any additional shells. On the lock screen, everything is standard for Lollipop: the clock is at the top, notifications from applications are in the center, and at the bottom there are means to unlock the device, quickly go to the Phone application, and turn on the camera. By double-tapping a notification, you can open a file, email, or message right from the lock screen.
The notification panel has a double curtain. By pulling once, you can open notifications from applications; by pulling a second time, you can open the smartphone settings control buttons.
As for typical phone functions, the interface is familiar to Android 5.1 Lollipop: a classic, simple sans-serif font with blue numbers.
The keyboard is also standard and supports continuous input, but it takes some getting used to as there are no boundaries between the keys.
All necessary applications can be installed from the Google Play store.
Secondary Characteristics
The owners have no complaints about the sound: the voice speaker performed well, even outperforming similar mid-level Chinese models. Some complain about color distortion when watching videos on YouTube, but the general mass of owners did not notice a critical difference. In any case, you shouldn’t expect any miracles from an obvious budget employee.
If you use smartphone functions occasionally, then the battery will last for quite a decent time, although for such a device the battery could have been made larger - the thickness of the device is not so important here.
Camera and video recording
Tele2 Mini is equipped with a main camera with a 2 megapixel sensor with LED flash, but without autofocus. The front camera has a resolution of 0.3 megapixels without autofocus.
The camera is frankly weak. The photos come out with a C grade. The flash in the device works quite well, not highlighting the subject, but highlighting it.
In buildings and at night, the camera experiences great difficulties, and getting a high-quality photo becomes much more difficult. Moreover, in the case of shooting street lights, the white balance is a little off and instead of a warm yellow-orange tint, it takes the picture into a cold range, which is why color rendition suffers. I also note that the device does not have the ability to shoot panoramas.
The front camera is frankly weak. Detail and color rendition are low.
The video is recorded in 640 x 480 quality and is of mediocre quality.
Features of some parts
The main characteristic of Tele2 Mini is a clear, bright and contrasting image. The high-quality display has a pixel density of 233 ppi and a TFT amplifier. All this allows you to display more than 16 million colors. There may be a slight shift towards blue tints, but this can be easily corrected with individual settings. The touch screen capacity does not support more than two touches. The display size is 4 inches (840x480).
The main camera has a low resolution (only 2 MP), so clear photos with correct color reproduction can only be taken during the daytime with sufficient lighting. The absence of different modes allows for quick shooting. The front camera is also not of high quality. Its resolution is only 0.3 MP, but it allows you to comfortably use video communication.
The smartphone uses a 1,500 mAh lithium-ion battery. It has no memory effect and has a low level of self-charging. Doesn't support battery life for long . With a bright screen mode and active use of the gadget, the charge lasts for 30 hours. If you only make calls from your smartphone, the battery will last for 60 hours.
The device has insufficient RAM. Many modern applications, games and utilities will not work quickly. But at the same time, the components of the operating system will not experience problems. The volume is enough for comfortable Internet surfing.
The built-in memory is also not enough. Half of it is occupied by system files. The user is left with 2 GB, which is not enough for various applications and photos. The problem can be partially solved by installing an external memory card.
It is difficult to find an analogue of the Tele2 Mini smartphone, as it has an excellent quality-to-price ratio. The device perfectly supports data transfer in any conditions. Communication remains stable in adverse weather conditions, distance from the tower, or being in the subway or basement.
The budget built-in antenna is in many ways superior to similar parts from the premium segment. The device supports the Wi-Fi network well and almost never loses signal.
Tele2 services
There are several Tele2 applications on your smartphone. In particular, there is the “My Tele2” service - a personal account for Tele2 Russia subscribers. The application will help you check the balance and balances of minutes, SMS and megabytes in packages; order details; view expense statistics by month; top up your account or make a promised payment; change tariff; connect or disconnect services; view a list of nearby offices.
In addition, the Tele2 TV program, a mobile television client, is installed. Internet traffic through the Tele2 mobile network is not charged when using the “Tele2 TV” application. All new users are given a promotional period of 7 days, during which viewing channels will be free. After seven days, channels can be viewed for a subscription fee of 7 rubles. per day, watching films will be available for 9 rubles. per day. Funds will be debited from the Tele2 subscriber’s mobile account.
Another application is “Tele2 Gudok”. It contains the most popular melodies, as well as the latest hits. Before ordering, you can listen to your favorite song and set it instead of a beep with one click. In addition, directly in the mobile application it is possible to configure the conditions for playing the melody. It is worth noting that when registering in the application, it will automatically connect if it has not been connected previously.
