According to the conditions of 2021, the “Smart” tariff from MTS is the opportunity to make unlimited calls within the network. Tariff "Smart" MTS description
The “Smart” tariff from MTS is a solution for subscribers who communicate little by phone and rarely use the Internet. The small packages of GB, minutes and SMS included in the subscription fee will fully suit their needs. The tariff plan is valid throughout the Russian Federation when you are in the operator’s network.
If a subscriber uses an MTS CASHBACK card, he can get a discount of up to 100% on the monthly fee.
As part of the tariff plan, the subscriber is offered to try services such as MTS Music, Unlimited access to the IVI cinema and iCloud cloud storage for free for a month. After 30 days you can disable them or continue using them with payment according to the terms of the option.
What is included in the tariff plan
"Smart" includes:
- 5 GB Internet traffic;
- unlimited calls within the network in your region (after a package of minutes);
- 250 minutes to all numbers in the region and MTS of the country;
- 250 messages to subscribers in your region.

Voice calls
According to the Smart tariff, incoming calls are received by the user free of charge.
Outgoing calls to local communication devices, including video calls (in 1 minute):
- 0 rubles for the initial 300 minutes to MTS and other operators;
- Free on MTS (over 300 minutes provided);
- 3 rubles for other networks and landline numbers (over 300 minutes provided).
Outgoing calls to other regions of the country, including video calls (in 1 minute):
- 0 rubles for the first 300 minutes for MTS users;
- 3 rubles for MTS numbers (over 300 minutes provided);
- 5 rubles for cellular networks of other operators.
Messaging
Incoming SMS and MMS messages are received by the user free of charge.
Rates for outgoing SMS:
- 2 rubles for users of MTS and other networks of Kaluga and the region (over 300 minutes provided);
- 3 rubles to consumers of MTS services and other networks in other regions of the Russian Federation.
The cost of SMS to devices connected to international operators is 8 rubles each. The price for MMS sent to the phones of users of Russian networks will cost 9.90 rubles.
Mobile Internet
The Smart offer service package includes 3 GB of network traffic. If the volume is used up ahead of schedule, an additional volume of 500 MB will be automatically activated for 95 rubles.
Internet speed in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug drops to 128 Kbps; in other territories of the Russian Federation it is not limited within a 3 GB package.
When traveling around Russia outside of Kaluga and the region, an unlimited number of megabytes are offered if you use the applications “Yandex Navigator”, “Yandex Maps”, “Yandex Transport”, “Yandex Trains”, “Yandex Parking”, “Yandex Air Tickets”. At the same time, the volume of traffic assumed by the tariff is not consumed.
It is not recommended to use the Smart offer for a modem. If a SIM card with a tariff is inserted into the device, access to the network is limited.

MTS TV Light includes 44 channels. From the moment of connecting to the Smart tariff, new subscribers have the opportunity to use mobile television services for free for six months.

How to activate the Smart tariff
If the user decides that “Smart” is suitable for him and he has a desire to activate it, then he should choose one of the methods. Activation methods include the following:
- dialing a command to activate the tariff: *111*1024*1#, and then pressing the call key;
- visiting your personal account and selecting the “ Tariffs ” tab, after which you need to select the Smart MTS tariff and confirm it by pressing a special button;
- by calling the operator, who should be informed of the desire to switch to “Smart”;
- visiting an MTS showroom and purchasing a SIM card from company representatives;
- visiting the “My MTS” application and independently switching to the tariff.
The choice of method depends on the specific preferences of the client.
Starting tariff "Smart Mini"
For new subscribers, as well as for those people who do not actively use mobile communication services, there is an inexpensive tariff from the “Smart” line. Its name is “Smart Mini”. The main parameters of this tariff plan:
- A small package of Internet traffic. It makes you think about how to switch to the MTS Smart Mini tariff, as it allows you to communicate on social networks, send text messages through special applications, and check email. Sharing photos, listening to music and watching videos on this tariff is not very convenient, since when using the Internet in this way, the traffic quickly runs out.
- A small package of free minutes for making calls to all networks in your home region and MTS Russia. There is no limit for calls to MTS numbers in your home region.
- SMS package. Its size allows you to send almost 5 messages every day.
This tariff plan is not available in all regions of our country. For this reason, some subscribers may not look for an answer to the question of how to switch to the MTS Smart Mini tariff. Connection conditions
Before switching to a specific tariff, you must carefully read the basic connection conditions. These include:
- Mandatory payments for using a federal number are 400 rubles (for Moscow and the Moscow region), and for a city number 304.8 rubles.
- A certain number of minutes, SMS and Internet traffic, established by the conditions, are provided monthly. Quantities may vary depending on your region of residence.
- Incoming calls are not charged. Outgoing calls to MTS are provided free of charge (a package of minutes is spent first), and the client also receives a certain number of minutes (for Moscow 200) for calls to SIM cards of other operators. The fee for calls in excess of the provided minutes is 3 rubles for SIM cards of other operators.
- SMS messages over the package established by the terms of the tariff are charged at 2 rubles in the home region and 3 rubles for Russian SIM cards.
- The cost of switching to a tariff plan is zero.
Not included in the tariff and paid separately
Calls to numbers of other operators in Moscow and the region are paid separately after the 250 minutes included in the tariff have been exhausted. The cost of a minute of calls is 3.50 rubles. After the minute limit is exhausted, you will also have to pay for calls to MTS Russia numbers, here the cost is also 3.50 rubles per minute. The cost of calls to any numbers of Russian operators is 6 rubles per minute.
SMS messages are also paid after the main package is exhausted. The cost of one message sent in your home region is 2.10 rubles.
Rules for disabling the Smart tariff from MTS
If the subscriber realizes that the Smart tariff is not suitable for him, and he wants to get other conditions for calls and the Internet, then he should disconnect from it.
Many clients are sure that in order to switch to a new chosen tariff, they must disable the old one.
However, this is not the case, and in order to switch tariffs, you just need to select a new one and activate it, and the “Smart” tariff will cease to operate automatically.
Methods for changing the tariff include:
- disconnection via the “My MTS” application;
- call the operator and request to disable the current tariff;
- visiting your personal account and changing your tariff yourself;
- visiting the sales office of the MTS company and contacting an employee to help about.
Entering a command to switch to Smart tariffs
Using the command is another answer to the question of how to switch to the Smart tariff on MTS. The combination is always published on the operator’s official website. It is important to know that each tariff from the Smart line has its own command. For example:
- to connect to the “Smart” tariff, you need to dial *111*1024# and press the call button;
- to connect “Our Smart” you need to send a similar combination from your mobile device – *111*1025#;
- command for connecting “Smart Top” – *111*1026#, etc.
On tariff plans of the “Smart” line, you can also use one simple and convenient command – *100*1#. This combination is provided to obtain information about the remaining SMS message packages and minutes. Detailed conditions
Before activating Smart, you need to know the basic conditions for the tariff:
- After “Smart” is activated, the full amount of the monthly payment is written off. Then the full amount is debited on the day of connection once a month. If the client's number is blocked, then debits from the mobile account will be made after its activation. For a whole month, if the SIM card has been blocked, no fee will be charged.
- If the client connects or changes his number to a landline number, he is additionally connected to it. This service cannot be disabled; it can only be canceled if the number is changed to a federal one. Its cost is set at 304.80 rubles. When activated, the “City number” option will be automatically activated, that is, additional digits will be allocated for the number “495”.
- Unused minutes and traffic do not carry over to the next month.
- After the main traffic ends, the client will receive an additional Internet package of 500 megabytes in size for 95 rubles. In total, no more than 15 auto-renewals can be used per month.

Debit
When connecting to a tariff
The monthly amount is withdrawn at the time of activation of the offer or transition from another tariff. Immediately there is full access to all services provided by the package.
When using the tariff
The subscription fee is charged from the second month of using the plan and the package is updated on the date of connection or transition to the tariff. This happens every month. If there is no date for the completed connection in the next month, it is moved to the previous date. For example, if a person activated the tariff on March 31, the amount for the second month will be written off on April 30.
If the user's number is blocked, withdrawals are made after activation the following night. In this case, there is no charge for the month when the SIM card is not used.
Daily payment is available to subscribers. If there are not enough funds in the account to fully debit the monthly fee, money is charged daily at 9 rubles per day until the balance is replenished for a one-time withdrawal of the entire amount.
When the tariff is disabled
When disconnecting the service and switching to another plan, it is recommended to use up the volumes provided by the tariff. This is due to the fact that unused balances of the package do not roll over to the next month.
If the subscriber decides to unilaterally refuse services and does not replenish the balance, when the balance reaches zero or negative (up to -800 rubles), only incoming calls and SMS are available to him for 2 months. Then the number is completely blocked. The contract is considered terminated by the subscriber after 183 days if he has not used paid services.
But if after 150 days the account contains a positive balance (above 0.01 rubles) without using commercial options, the subscriber is transferred to the “Basic 092013” tariff.
If a user of communication services connects or decides to change his number to a landline number, the “Unlimited call forwarding from a direct number” option must be activated. Its cost is quite high and amounts to 300 rubles. That is, incoming calls to a direct number are actually redirected to a federal one, which is why the fee is charged.
It is not possible to disable the option. Cancellation is carried out by abandoning the city number and switching to a federal one. In this case, redirection is not needed, and the subscriber is not charged.
Do unused minutes roll over to the next month?
Before activating an offer from MTS, it is important to familiarize yourself with its features:
- unused volumes of minutes, messages, network traffic in the current month are not carried over to the next;
- When changing the tariff, the remaining services in the package do not transfer to the new plan.
What happens when the traffic for a package ends before the end of the month
When the provided amount of network traffic, which is 3 GB according to the Smart tariff, is used up, an additional package is automatically provided. It includes 500 MB, its cost is 95 rubles.
The connection will be extended until the tariff package is updated. However, the additional 500 MB is activated no more than 15 times monthly. It is then possible to use the network using the “Turbo buttons”.
Additional packages are valid in all regions of the Russian Federation; the balance on them is not carried over to the next month.
To avoid connecting to the excess volume of 500 MB, you need to enter the code on your phone: *111*936#.
Calls to other countries
The MTS operator allows you to make calls from Kaluga to other cities of the Russian Federation and abroad. However, prices differ depending on the country of destination of the call:
- CIS - 35 rub. /min;
- Europe - 49 rub./min;
- Other countries - 70 rub./min.
