Expensive but useful “Super Caller ID” service on Megafon

“Super Caller ID” MTS is designed to expand the capabilities of subscribers and gain the opportunity to constantly stay informed about who is calling. This option will appeal to those telephone company customers who do not like to receive anonymous calls and prefer to know who they are talking to. However, the option has a number of disadvantages and weaknesses that must be taken into account when connecting. If the user does not familiarize himself with them, there is a possibility that the service will not work correctly or will not give the desired result.

What it is?

The abbreviation Caller ID stands for Automatic Number Identifier. This method is used by different companies to determine subscriber phone numbers and receive payment for calls. Today there are three methods for determining numbers. In our countries, as a rule, the standard is used (to put it simply as ANI), and abroad - Caller ID (FSK, DTMF). There are a number of differences between these methods of determining the number:

  1. In Caller ID, the telephone number is determined before connecting to the operator.
  2. Caller ID identifies the phone after connection.
  3. Caller ID is an option that is specifically designed for use by telephone subscribers.
  4. Caller ID - used for charging international calls.

The operating principle looks like this:

  • the modem picks up the phone;
  • delay before request is 200-250 ms;
  • caller ID request duration from 100 to 200 ms, 500 Hz;
  • receiving and decoding information;
  • output of artificial signals so that the subscriber does not realize that the other person has already picked up the phone.

With this option, there are a number of difficulties with the speed of determining the number, as well as sending data without a request. In the first case, two tones are set for the request to solve the problem, and in the second there is a delay of 100 ms for applying two signals and 200 ms in a situation using only one request tone.

How does it work

The MTS AntiAON service is a function that allows you to prohibit the identification of your phone number when making a call to other MTS operators. A 100% guaranteed number is not detected on the mobile devices of MTS subscribers located in the Moscow region. The MTS operator offers two mutually exclusive options that hide the subscriber when calling other users:

  • AntiAON - hides the person’s number for all outgoing calls;
  • AntiAON MTS one-time (on request) - allows you to hide the number only for certain calls (subscribers) that are made when dialing a special combination.

Note that hiding a phone number from all contacts in the phone book does not make sense, because many subscribers ignore calls from unknown numbers. In addition, sometimes this option is important when it comes to work-related calls. That's why many people use MTS one-time AntiAON (on-demand service). In other words, if you enabled the last option, when you dial the phone normally, the other person will be able to see the number.

To prevent the phone from being displayed, just when dialing another subscriber, add the combination #31# before the main number, and then enter the numbers in the usual +7… format. When activating AntiAON MTS, a monthly fee is charged for all calls.

It is important to note that the standard AntiAON service and AntiAON on request cannot operate simultaneously. If the user has enabled only one function, the second option is disabled automatically. In this case, you will have to activate it again.

To detect incoming calls from all subscribers, you need to connect MTS Super Caller ID. In this case, the “encryptions” discussed above do not work.

Connection

The fastest way to activate the service is the USSD command

: Dial
*111*007#
and press the call button.

Procedure in the online service “My MTS”

:

Note:

the service can be activated by default within your tariff or activated by you earlier. Therefore, check the list of functioning products in the “Connected” tab (see “Paid” and “Free” in it).

You should follow the same path to disable the option (you just need to open the “Connected” tab, and at the end click the “Disable” button).

A similar procedure is implied when working with a mobile application.

How to connect

There are several ways to connect the MTS number anti-identifier - through your personal account (PA), mobile application, using USSD or other methods. Let's take a closer look at them.

Personal Area

One of the most convenient ways is to connect the MTS option via a personal account. For this:

  • Log in to the MTS page at mts.ru/personal.
  • Click the Login button on the right side.

  • Click the Mobile button. If you are logging in without registering, go through this procedure by following the system prompts. After entering the number, you will receive a message that must be entered in a special field.
  • Enter your personal information (username and password).

  • Log in to My services, and at the bottom go to the link All connected and available services.

  • Find AntiAON in the list or the same option, but upon request.

  • Enable the option.

The number should receive a notification that the function is activated.

Via USSD

A convenient method for connecting AntiAON to MTS is to use a special combination of symbols. To solve the problem, dial the request *111*46#, and then press the call button.

These actions are enough to activate the option. To launch AntiAON on request, enter the combination *111*84#.

Using the app

The MTS AntiAON service is easily activated through a special operator application. The principle here is almost the same as in your personal account. The difference is that the connection occurs via a smartphone. The algorithm is like this:

  • Install the program through the Play Market (for Android) or App Store (for iPhone).

  • Login to the application. If a SIM card is installed in the mobile device, authorization takes place automatically. In another situation, enter the phone number and enter the password from the SMS.

  • Log in to the program by entering your username and password.
  • Click on the Services button.

  • Find the option you need and enable it.

Via operator

Another way to activate the service is to dial the call center number. There are two options available here - 0500 from MTS or 8-800-55-005-00 from any device.

Next, listen to the answering machine prompts and wait for the command to connect to the operator. Ask a specialist to enable the option. When choosing this method, make sure that you have your passport nearby. Your details or other information may be required to identify the subscriber.

At the service office

To connect AntiAON from MTS, go to any communication shop or customer service office to obtain information on connection. Give the employee your internal passport and ask to activate the service. If the number is registered in the name of another user, you will need permission from the owner or a power of attorney from a notary. Consulting services for employees of such centers are free.

In all cases, after connection, the service begins to operate immediately after receiving an SMS confirming the activation of the additional option.

Connection cost

Costs vary depending on the type of service. So, when connecting a regular option, the following fee is charged:

  • 17 r - tariff without the need to pay every month, relevant for Red Energy, Super MTS, Your Country;
  • 34 r - tariff with a monthly fee (MAXI, MTS iPAD, Ultra, as well as closed packages).

Every day 3.95 rubles are debited from the balance.

For AntiAON, at the request of MTS, other tariffs apply. Here, to activate the option you need to pay 32 rubles. Payment for each day of use - 1.05 rubles. Each one-time ban will cost 2 rubles for each call. If you wish, you can disable this feature for free.

It is important to note that the option is not available to subscribers who are connected to the Cool tariff. The exception is when the Mobile Internet option is used in this tariff plan.

Price

The amount of the anonymity fee is determined by the home region in which the MTS number is located, as well as the tariff plan.

You can install MTS AntiAON for free only in the Southern Federal District.

Why does not it work

The MTS operator warns that the number hiding function is guaranteed to work within the network. When making calls to phones from other telecom operators, the number may be displayed. In addition, if the subscriber has enabled the Super Caller ID option from MTS, the caller ID service will also not work. We must also not forget that the phone is hidden only when making a call. If the user sends SMS, the number is displayed as usual. Another point is calls on international roaming. In this case, the AntiAON option from MTS also does not work.

In other words, the option may not work:

  • when calling the phone of another operator;
  • in international roaming;
  • if the subscriber has the Super Caller ID option enabled.

In other situations, the function works correctly and does the job well.

Disadvantages of AntiAON

The main disadvantage of these services is that they really only work among MTS subscribers. For clients of other operators, the option may not work correctly and show the caller's details.

Another drawback is the fee. Funds are withdrawn from the account once, then every month as a subscription payment. The cost depends on the specific tariff.

In addition, a number of people simply do not pick up the phone when calling from a hidden number, and in order to get through to them, you will have to remove the hidden number.

How to get around

As noted above, disabling Caller ID on MTS is not difficult. To do this, it is enough to sign up for the AntiAON service, regular or upon request. If the goal is to bypass anti-determination, the Super Caller ID function comes in handy here. To use it, just connect the MTS caller ID by entering the command *111*007#.

Connection costs 990 rubles, and subsequently a payment of 6.5 rubles is taken every day. This option cannot be called cheap, but it is very useful and allows you to protect yourself from those who like to hide their phone number.

“Anti Caller ID on request” from MTS: details

Another modification of this service is the “On request” option. This option will be ideal for subscribers who do not need to systematically hide their number, but nevertheless use this opportunity quite often.

The essence of the proposal is this: by activating the service, subscribers will make calls under standard conditions, and other customers will see their number on their devices, however, when entering the appropriate combination before directly dialing the subscriber’s number, the number hiding service will be activated and operate exclusively for this one call.

Accordingly, if you want to make a hidden call, you should dial the subscriber’s numbers in the following form: *31#+7ХХХХХХХХХ . When entering numbers normally, the interlocutor will see your number.

How to enable or disable “Anti Caller ID on request”

To use it, you must first activate it using your personal account or request *111*84# . The option can be disabled using a personal account or an identical USSD request.

The option is also not offered free of charge, and its terms and conditions provide for the following prices:

Reviews

In general, users respond positively to the service and note that it works without any complaints within the operator. But there are some glitches when a phone number is identified for some reason. Let's highlight a few reviews about the MTS AntiAON function:

“I recently connected the MTS AntiAON function. When calling within the network, numbers are hidden in 80% of cases, but when calling other operators, the system does not work. To be honest, I plan to switch to a one-time tariff so as not to close the phone for all subscribers.” Ilya, 33 years old.

“I use AntiAON from MTS upon request. I think that closing the number for all subscribers is pointless. And it’s very convenient. I entered a special code and blocked the display of the phone. It’s easier and much cheaper this way.” Stanislav, 33 years old.

The main complaints of MTS customers are related to the high cost of the service and the lack of blocking when calling to other operators.
But this is a feature of the option, which the provider warns users about immediately before connecting the Anti-AON or Anti-AON on request function. If our article helped you, please like it!
