The “Maxi Plus” tariff from MTS of the “Maxi” line offers different conditions of use depending on the place of purchase of the SIM card and the user’s home region.
The initial version of the regular payment for using the tariff plan was charged daily, then the regular payment changed to monthly.
Thus, subscribers in the Capital Region pay 170 rubles monthly for using the plan, and subscribers in other regions of Russia pay an average of 150 rubles for a tariff with the same name.
The basic tariff package includes 50 minutes (for metropolitan subscribers) and 150 minutes (for regional subscribers) of outgoing calls per month to all numbers within the mobile operator’s service area for metropolitan subscribers and 150 minutes of outgoing calls per month to MTS throughout Russia for regional subscribers users.
Users in Moscow and the Moscow region were offered the opportunity to purchase additional packages of minutes for communication within their region:
- Package of 50 minutes for a month for 160 rubles.
- Package of 100 minutes for a month for 300 rubles.
- Package of 200 minutes for a month for 560 rubles.
After the basic minute package for outgoing calls has been exhausted, the cost of calls to the numbers of all operators in your region is 3 rubles 50 kopecks for subscribers in Moscow and the Moscow region and 1 ruble 60 kopecks on average for subscribers in other regions of Russia.
Calls to phone numbers outside your service area after the basic package has been exhausted and SMS costs also vary.
Users in the Moscow region will pay:
- 3 rubles 50 kopecks per minute for outgoing calls to MTS Russia numbers.
- 12 rubles per minute for outgoing calls to other Russian operators.
- The cost of SMS is 1 ruble 95 kopecks to all operators in all regions of Russia.
Users in other regions of Russia will pay:
- 3 rubles per minute for outgoing calls to MTS Russia numbers.
- 12 rubles per minute for outgoing calls to other Russian operators.
- The cost of SMS is 1 ruble 5 kopecks for subscribers in your region and 1 ruble 95 kopecks for all operators in other regions of Russia.
The cost of using Internet traffic is 9 rubles 90 kopecks per 1 MB, and also implies the connection of traffic packages that optimize Internet costs.

How to completely disconnect from the Internet on MTS?
How to turn off the Internet on MTS? The question is relevant if you plan to use the device in roaming, if the phone is intended for children or the elderly. Disconnection is free of charge. The “Internet” option can be disabled in several ways:
- Contact the operator. Dial 8–800–250–08–90 and explain the essence of the request. The shutdown procedure will be carried out by company representatives.
- On the MTS website you can do this yourself using the “Internet Assistant” in your “Personal Account”. This is the preferred option.
- In the MTS store. The most difficult path and not the most reliable. It makes sense to check the execution of the shutdown later.

Eleven years ago, and it was then that the first version of the tariff plan appeared, their conditions were favorable, since they made it possible to receive free services as part of the MTS prepaid tariff package - minutes for calls, SMS, and even Internet within the quota. Over the course of several years, MTS tariffs for the MAXI line have changed, and new options have appeared (MAXI plus, top, smart, active, super). Pay attention to the names of the tariffs that were subsequently developed among the operator’s offerings, including the now main “Smart” line.
Today, some of the tariffs are no longer relevant, but about ten versions are used by subscribers. Why were these tariffs so attractive to users?
The fact is that with the development of the MTS line, new versions of MAXI tariffs offered users more and more options, unlimited limits, and additional features. Some of them have been continued and are now available in new tariffs, and some have no analogues.
Thus, package minutes, an option for free Internet, and daily payment for the tariff plan appeared in MTS “MAXI Plus” tariffs. Later, in the “MAXI” tariffs with the prefixes “Top” and “Smart”, traffic packages, familiar today in MTS tariffs for smartphones, appeared. True, their volume was five hundred megabytes and one gigabyte, but at that time it was more than enough. Over time, MTS tariffs of the “MAXI Plus” line have grown into full-fledged package offers - “Everything you need” for 300 and 500 rubles per month.
But the version of the MTS “MAHI Active” tariff had its own peculiarity, which consisted in reducing the cost of the service while spending a certain amount. Today the operator does not have such offers, but previously, having used five minutes at two rubles for each, the subscriber received a discount on the use of communications until the end of the day. Thus, a minute on the network was reduced to five kopecks, and for other operators to one and a half rubles.

It is easy to notice that the first versions of the MAXI tariffs have much in common with the Super MTS tariff package. In it, for six rubles per day, the subscriber has access to unlimited access to the operator’s regional numbers and one hundred megabytes.
The tariff package also offers a favorable price for other operators in the amount of one and a half rubles per minute. The only thing that the tariff may seem unprofitable in the initial price segment is the high cost of intercity travel. However, “MAXI” tariffs do not offer favorable prices for this route.
But if we consider package offers, they are all superior in their attractiveness to the old offers. Thus, the classic “Smart” costing 250 rubles includes two hundred minutes to all networks in the region and three gigabytes.
Also, in the category from three hundred to five hundred rubles, you can choose the “X” tariff, the minimum “Tariff” or one of the “My Smart” options. Thus, you can get from 100 to 750 minutes to other networks. If you connect and configure these MTS tariffs, 7, 15, 20 GB of Internet, or completely unlimited, will also be available.

Quite often, old offers actually lose their relevance when you compare them with new tariffs. However, using the example of the “MAXI” line of the MTS operator, you can see that sometimes archived offers can be more profitable.
So, despite the decreasing popularity of the SMS messaging service, in new offers it is impossible to get full unlimited data even within the network of your operator in a particular region.
Also, none of the “Big Three” operators offer unlimited service on their network without additional conditions on package tariffs. Everyone has this unlimited, but only after using a package of minutes.
