The Caller ID service on MTS is a completely standard tool, which is implemented by default for all the operator’s clients. It has extremely simple conditions, as well as some modifications in the form of additional types of services, which we will consider today.

In order to find out the cost of the service in your region, you can use the MTS website.

What it is?

The abbreviation Caller ID stands for Automatic Number Identifier. This method is used by different companies to determine subscriber phone numbers and receive payment for calls. Today there are three methods for determining numbers. In our countries, as a rule, the standard is used (to put it simply as ANI), and abroad - Caller ID (FSK, DTMF). There are a number of differences between these methods of determining the number:

  1. In Caller ID, the telephone number is determined before connecting to the operator.
  2. Caller ID identifies the phone after connection.
  3. Caller ID is an option that is specifically designed for use by telephone subscribers.
  4. Caller ID - used for charging international calls.

The operating principle looks like this:

  • the modem picks up the phone;
  • delay before request is 200-250 ms;
  • caller ID request duration from 100 to 200 ms, 500 Hz;
  • receiving and decoding information;
  • output of artificial signals so that the subscriber does not realize that the other person has already picked up the phone.

With this option, there are a number of difficulties with the speed of determining the number, as well as sending data without a request. In the first case, two tones are set for the request to solve the problem, and in the second there is a delay of 100 ms for applying two signals and 200 ms in a situation using only one request tone.

How to connect Antiaon MTS?

There are 3 main ways to connect to the service:

  1. Through your personal account on the MTS website. This service is available to all subscribers of the operator. If you have not set a password or have forgotten it, you need to click the “Receive password via SMS” button, after which a message with a code will be sent to the specified phone number. After entering the received numbers, you will be able to set a password. After logging into your personal account, in the menu located on the left side of the screen, you need to select Tariffs and services – Manage services – Connect new services. In the proposed list, services are arranged in alphabetical order, AntiAON will be located in the top ten. You need to check the box next to the service and confirm your choice by clicking the “Next” button. The advantage of this method is the opportunity to familiarize yourself with all the terms and conditions of the service.
  2. Through the MTS Service mobile application, which is available for phones on iOS, Android and Windows operating systems. In general, the connection procedure is similar to that described above.
  3. By dialing the combination *111*46# on your phone and confirming your intention to activate the service. This method is the fastest, but you need to remember that by using it, you confirm that you are familiar with all the terms of service and agree with them.

AntiAON

Any MTS mobile subscriber can use this service. After activation, on the display of other mobile phones when you call, not the numbers of your number will be displayed, but a non-binding inscription: “Number hidden”. You don't need to change any settings, just activate the service.

Connection.

There are two options for connecting Caller ID:

  • USSD code *111*46#Call button. After dialing these numbers, within 24 hours you will receive an SMS message about the activation of this on the MTS company website. In order to use this method, you need to register on the portal, go to your page and select the AntiAON service from the operator’s numerous offers, and then activate it.

How to use

Often the need to hide a number does not arise with every call, but only in certain situations. The difference between this service and the option described above is that by default, when making calls, your number will be determined from the called subscriber. In order to hide the number, you will need to dial the already familiar combination *31# before the subscriber’s number.

What are the advantages of this service? First of all, the price. When connecting, the subscriber is charged a fixed fee (varies in regions, for Moscow - 32 rubles), a daily fee will be charged in the amount of 1.05 rubles. For a one-time number identification ban, you will be charged 2 rubles. Thus, the Antiaon MTS on-demand service is beneficial only if you are going to use the number identification ban not every day, for example, a couple of times a month. In other cases, it is better to choose the AntiAON service.

Thus, even if Antiaon on MTS is needed only for one time, you will have to pay for connection and at least one day of use, which in total will require about 40 rubles.

Cons of MTS

However, there are disadvantages of the AntiAON option that should be taken into account:

A guarantee of an unambiguous ban on the transfer of your phone number can only be if you make a call to an MTS cellular subscriber. When making calls to subscribers of other cellular operators, the anti-identifier does not always work.

If your interlocutor has the “Super Anti-AON” option installed, then the user will be able to see any hidden number, even if you use an anti-identifier.

It is also possible to set a ban on transferring a number for free, if the user’s phone has such an option. In your phone settings, you can block the transfer of your number. However, your operator must also support this function, otherwise blocking data transfer when making a call will not always be successful.

How to see all hidden MTS numbers

Along with the question “how to hide a number on MTS,” subscribers sometimes have the question of how to recognize hidden numbers. Especially for such cases, the operator offers the Super Caller ID service. The essence of this service is to identify all numbers, even those made by subscribers with the activated MTS Anti-AON service or Anti-AON upon request. Just as in previous cases, the operator guarantees correct operation of the function only when making calls from MTS subscribers in their home region. In addition, there is a limitation of the service on a number of phones, including Samsung E350, Samsung E370, Nokia 1200, etc. (the full list is presented on the website).

To connect to SuperAON, you can use your personal account or mobile application, or dial the combination *111*007#. There is no command available to disable ussd. This option is quite expensive - tariffs in some regions of Russia are presented below.

Moscow and Moscow regionconnection cost 6,000 rubles, daily fee 6.5 rubles
St. Petersburg and Leningrad region, Republic of Tatarstan, Republic of Bashkortostan, Altai Republic, Perm Territoryconnection cost 990 rubles, daily fee 6.5 rubles

Thus, in most of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, the connection cost and daily fee are the same and amount to 990 and 6.5 rubles, respectively.

Description of the AntiAON service

In order to hide your number on MTS, we can use one of the services presented above. Let's try to consider each of them separately and in more detail. Anti-AON on request works on the principle of generating a one-time request to prohibit number identification. That is, in order to hide our number, we change the dialing syntax and add the prefix #31# to it. As a result, the dialed number looks like this - #31#+79111234567 and the call key. As a result, a call will be received to the called number without indicating the calling subscriber's number.

In order to prohibit identification of your number for all calls, we can specify a ban on sending it in the call settings by selecting the No option in the Sending your number setting item. The AntiAON on request service does not work just like that - it needs to be activated. If you need to call once from a hidden number, the cost will be 2 rubles - this amount is added to the total cost of a voice call in one direction or another.

If you need to hide your number during all outgoing calls on an ongoing basis, then we can use the AntiAON service . How to hide your number using this service? There is no need to do anything - the numbers are hidden automatically, whether we want it or not. But if we need to call without hiding the number, then we must dial the number of the called party with the prefix #31#.

MTS does not guarantee the correct operation of the service when calling numbers of other mobile and city operators. But a simple check shows that when calling numbers of other mobile operators, the number is almost always hidden. Both services can be connected to any tariff plans, with the exception of the Cool tariff (children's tariff for schoolchildren).

Why doesn't hiding a number on MTS work?

Below are the most likely answers to the question why AntiAON does not work:

  1. You are making a call to a subscriber of another network/different region. As stated above, MTS guarantees the correct operation of the service only when calling MTS subscribers in their home region.
  2. The called subscriber has the Super Caller ID service activated, which allows you to determine numbers even with Anti Caller ID connected.

In all other situations, it makes sense to contact the MTS support service (by calling the hotline 0890 or using the online chat in your personal account).

How to connect caller ID to Beeline?

  • The first way to connect AntiAON for a Beeline SIM card is to use the USSD command. Open the dialing menu and enter the command *110*071# . After 10-15 seconds, an SMS message will be sent to your number with information that the anti-caller ID option is enabled.
  • The second way is to call a special phone. Open the dialing menu and enter the number 067409071.
  • The third way is to log into your personal phone number account via a smartphone or computer. Go to the additional services section and activate the Caller ID feature.

Sometimes the service will not work immediately after connection. To complete the activation of the Anti-AON option, go to your phone settings and turn off the display of the number. Now you can call other subscribers in incognito mode.

You can enable and disable the function an unlimited number of times. For example, you can activate the anti-caller ID option, make one call and disable the function. To deactivate the anti-identifier, enter the USSD command *110*070#.

Reviews

In general, users respond positively to the service and note that it works without any complaints within the operator. But there are some glitches when a phone number is identified for some reason. Let's highlight a few reviews about the MTS AntiAON function:

“I recently connected the MTS AntiAON function. When calling within the network, numbers are hidden in 80% of cases, but when calling other operators, the system does not work. To be honest, I plan to switch to a one-time tariff so as not to close the phone for all subscribers.” Ilya, 33 years old.

“I use AntiAON from MTS upon request. I think that closing the number for all subscribers is pointless. And it’s very convenient. I entered a special code and blocked the display of the phone. It’s easier and much cheaper this way.” Stanislav, 33 years old.

The main complaints of MTS customers are related to the high cost of the service and the lack of blocking when calling to other operators.
But this is a feature of the option, which the provider warns users about immediately before connecting the Anti-AON or Anti-AON on request function. If our article helped you, please like it!

How to get around

As noted above, disabling Caller ID on MTS is not difficult. To do this, it is enough to sign up for the AntiAON service, regular or upon request. If the goal is to bypass anti-determination, the Super Caller ID function comes in handy here. To use it, just connect the MTS caller ID by entering the command *111*007#.

Connection costs 990 rubles, and subsequently a payment of 6.5 rubles is taken every day. This option cannot be called cheap, but it is very useful and allows you to protect yourself from those who like to hide their phone number.
