This article will discuss in detail issues related to the registration of mobile phones and other communication devices using IIN and IMEI, and will also provide detailed instructions for the registration itself.

Why registration is needed

Since January 1, 2021, the Law “On Communications” has been in force on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Article 36-2 states that all phones, tablets, smart watches and other devices are subject to mandatory registration.

Registering a Beeline number serves as a guarantee of additional security. If the device is stolen or lost, no one will be able to use it, since cellular operators cannot provide services to unaccounted for devices.

The procedure is carried out free of charge based on three parameters: IIN, subscriber number and IMEI code.

Beeline automatically detects the IMEI code of the phone and the associated subscriber number. You only need to tell the operator your IIN.

You can check your Beeline KZ number registration using the USSD command *808#. In response, you will receive an SMS message with the necessary information.

How to register a phone using IMEI code in Kazakhstan

Registration of a telephone in the Republic of Kazakhstan is required in accordance with the provisions of the Law “On Communications”. All devices using SIM cards and cellular networks are subject to mandatory registration. The requirement does not apply only to a phone that is roaming within the country.

You can register a mobile device in two ways - remotely using SMS and by contacting the office of a cellular operator that has a license to provide services in the country. If the phone uses two SIM cards, they must both be registered with the operators that service them.

Where to see IIN and IMEI

TIN is an Individual Identification Number. It consists of 12 digits and is issued to every citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan. You can find it on the front side of your ID card or on the second page of your passport.

IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is a 15-digit mobile device identification code. Beeline detects it automatically. You can find out the code in three ways:

  1. Dial the USSD command *#06# on your phone, which will display IMEI on the screen.
  2. Look under the battery, near the SIM card slot.
  3. It is also indicated on the box and in the warranty card.

Mobile operators Kcell and Activ provide the opportunity to register your device in several ways:

  1. via SMS message – send your IIN in the text of the message to number 6006;
  2. using a USSD command - dial *660# on your phone and press the dial button, after which a field will open in which you need to enter your IIN and press the “Submit” button;
  3. through your Kcell or Activ – after logging into your personal account, select the “Registration” section, where you must enter the necessary registration data;

Step-by-step instructions for registration

There are two simple options for registering a phone in Kazakhstan with Beeline. First you need to check the registration of the number using the command *835#.

An SMS will be sent in response.

  1. If it says that the number is not registered, you must fill out the “Registration” form on the Beeline KZ website.
  2. If the response informs you that the number is registered to another person, then you need to go to the “Re-registration” form.

If the received SMS message contains incorrect data, leave a request to re-register the number using the link in step 2, or contact the nearest Beeline office with an ID card.

The links above lead to the official website beeline.kz, where you need to fill out an online form by entering your data:

  • Last name, First name, Fatherland;
  • Date of birth;
  • Number and date of issue of identity card or passport;
  • Residence address;
  • Email.

In case of re-registration of a Beeline number in Kazakhstan, you must additionally indicate:

  1. The three most frequently dialed phones from this SIM card;
  2. The last two balance replenishment amounts;
  3. Attach a photo of your passport or ID card.

The first two points are needed to prevent people from registering other people's SIM cards on the Beeline network.

You can also provide your IIN in any of 5 ways:

  1. Send it as an SMS from your number to 6914.
  2. Dial *691# and follow the instructions.
  3. Through the “My Beeline” mobile application.
  4. Call 6914 any time from 09:00 am to 01:00 am.
  5. Go to the nearest operator's office with your ID or passport.

You can register a SIM card at the age of 14-18 only with the consent of the legal representative of the minor. If the child is under 14 years old, the procedure is carried out by a legal representative on his behalf.

When you are in roaming, your phone number and number are not subject to registration. To use communication services via a local operator's SIM card, you need to register with your passport.

Number registration

There are several ways to register a Beeline number. They are somewhat different for citizens of Kazakhstan and visitors. Residents must have the following information with them:

  • IIN, subscriber phone number and IMEI code (individuals).
  • BIN, subscriber phone number and IMEI code (legal entities).

For a non-resident, the passport code and series, cell phone number and IMEI code will be sufficient. If we talk about the Beeline operator, it determines the IMEI of the device automatically and attaches the associated phone number to it. In this case, you only need to report your IIN, which is very convenient.

Registration is performed in one of the following ways:

  • For residents: dial the USSD command *691# and enter the IIN code if the phone is registered to an individual, or BIN if the phone was received for use by a legal entity.
  • For non-residents: dial the USSD command *693# and indicate your passport number or BIN.

Beeline subscribers can register through a special page imei.beeline.kz or by calling service number 6914. The call can be answered from 9 am to 1 am. You can also personally contact any sales and user service department. You can register a SIM card there too, by providing your IIN.

The difference between registration and re-registration

Number registration in Beeline is carried out if the phone number is unknown to the operator.

Re-registration is necessary if the device is known, but assigned to another person. Perhaps the number was issued a long time ago, the service user did not have a passport, so they issued it using the document of a friend or relative. Or the SIM card may have previously belonged to a deceased relative, and it is important to keep the number.

Or, by chance, errors were made when filling out the data. In all such cases, you should register the phone in Kazakhstan in your name so that there are no problems in the provision of communication services.

Number re-registration

Registering a Beeline number is done only once - when the operator first receives data about the phone. Re-registration is possible in any other cases, that is, if the phone number is known, but assigned to the wrong person.

It happens that the contract was drawn up a very long time ago, when the client did not have his own passport and was registered using the details of a friend, acquaintance or relative. It is possible that the SIM card belonged to a loved one who died and they want to keep it.

The rules for registration and re-registration are identical. What distinguishes them is that during the second procedure you will need to prove the legality of purchasing the device and unlink the Individual Identification Code from the IMEI.

Reasons for SIM card inactivity

In a mobile phone, the SIM card may be inactive. There may be several reasons for this situation. This could be a malfunction of the phone itself or problems with the card. In the first case, the device needs to be sent for diagnostics and repair, and in the second, you can try to correct the situation on your own. If the whole problem lies in the SIM card itself, you just need to reinstall it, and then restart the mobile phone. After the reboot, you need to make a verification call to number 3535. There is also a verification option by dialing the command to check the balance *102#. If the card is not activated in this case, it should be placed in another slot (in the case of a device with two SIM cards).

It is best to reinstall cards directly in the showroom or sales office. You can also contact the salon staff so that they correctly place the SIM card in the mobile phone slot.

First of all, the number must be correctly registered. To check it, you need to dial *835#. When there is no registration, it is enough to contact any Beeline office with an identification document.

New clients only need to indicate their individual tax number, and legal entities register gadgets with the help of a personal manager or at sales and service offices.

How to check information on a USB modem

Subscribers can use a SIM card as a source of Beeline Internet services via a USB modem. To check the number you will need a special USB-modem Beeline application. It automatically starts when the device is initially used on a computer or tablet.

To find out information, do the following:

  1. Connect the USB modem, then the application should start.
  2. Then find the Account Management tab.
  3. Click on My number, then on the word – Find out.
  4. After this, a notification will appear with the necessary information.

What documents are required?
