Hi all! In this article, we will look at the tariffs of the virtual mobile operator (MVNO) Rostelecom: are there really good offers?

Rostelecom

– the largest Russian provider of digital services and services. Provides broadband Internet access, interactive television, cellular communications and other services. Rostelecom has been involved in mobile communications for several years now - a virtual mobile operator was launched on the infrastructure of the operator Tele2, which Rostelecom subsequently bought out 100% (from March 17, 2020, Rostelecom became the sole owner of Tele2).

We will consider Rostelecom’s tariffs using the example of Moscow and the region. In different regions, parameters and prices, as a rule, differ, but most of the nuances and pitfalls are the same for all of Russia. First, let's evaluate the main parameters and features of all tariffs, and then move on to additional parameters that are common to all of them.

Tariff "Family History"

Main parameters:

Subscription fee – 700 rubles per month
Package of minutes – 800 minutes to local mobile numbers + unlimited to Rostelecom numbers (landline and mobile)
Internet package – 30 GB + unlimited social networks and instant messengers: Facebook, VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, WhatsApp, Viber, TamTam + unlimited video traffic in the Wink application.

Tariff "SuperSimka FREE"

There is no subscription fee.
Calls to numbers in your home region cost 2 rubles per minute.
Calls to Rostelecom numbers in other regions of Russia - 3 rubles per minute.
Calls to other numbers in other regions of Russia – 9 rubles per minute.

Rostelecom's tariffs are very similar to the tariffs of the mobile operator Tele2, but this is not surprising. However, for Rostelecom, everything is more confusing.

Access technologies used

The Perm branch of Rostelecom connects its subscribers in two ways. Method one is using good old telephone lines. They are capable of providing a throughput of up to 20 Mbit/s, which is enough for watching videos, operating digital TV and downloading files via torrents. The actual amount is limited by the length and quality of the telephone line connecting the PBX and the subscriber.

Optical communication lines allow you to connect subscribers at speeds of up to 200 Mbit/s. The cable is run directly into a house or apartment, or brought to a high-rise building, after which subscribers are connected via twisted pair (the gigabit ports used here are capable of providing the highest possible access speed). The disadvantage of optics is that they are difficult to install, especially in the private sector.

Subscribers from Perm can connect to the Internet through city access points launched by Rostelecom. To connect, you need to obtain a login and password by calling 8-800-300-0125. Next, connect to the selected point, enter your username and password, and enjoy access to the network at speeds of up to 1 Mbit/sec.

A program to eliminate the digital divide is available for residents of small settlements in the Perm Territory (with a population of up to 500 people). It allows you to connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi at speeds of up to 10 Mbit/sec, and it’s completely free. To connect, you need to register in your Rostelecom personal account.

Service and self-service

Let's look at Rostelecom's telephone contacts and service office addresses. For subscribers from Perm, a single hotline is available at 8-800-1000-800. Here, requests for repairs are accepted, and consultations are given on the operation of certain services. There is also a balance reporting system in the region at 8-800-300-18-06.

Self-service of subscribers is carried out using a single personal account. It allows you to manage home Internet, landline telephone and digital television. Logging in using a phone number or contract number is not possible here - you must first register and then add the services you use to the system. Instead of the web interface, you can use the My Rostelecom mobile application.

Connection and speed measurement

Submission of applications for connection to Rostelecom in Perm is carried out in the following ways:

For some reason, Rostelecom does not trust this tool; it has its own measurement service - it is located in the “Help - Home Internet” section on the operator’s official website.

How to activate the selected tariff?

If the subscriber has not yet managed to join the ranks of the telecommunications company’s clients and receive his own SIM card, there are several ways to make an initial connection:

at the nearest provider office;
by calling the contact number (the least convenient approach);
by filling out the form on the official website and ordering home delivery.

The application form will require you to provide your exact home address, last name and contact information, including phone number and email. After that, all you have to do is accept the terms of the subscription agreement, agree with the rules for processing personal data and wait a little.

How do you pay

Sberbank ATMs, its payment terminals, its proprietary mobile application and online banking system will help you pay for any communication services from Rostelecom in Perm. For payments using old templates, you will need a region code - 59. In the new templates, it is no longer required; it is enough to make a payment using the unique personal account number for the service.

Let's move on to Internet tariffs, which are divided into three categories - for optical and telephone lines, as well as for Wi-Fi. Reviews about Rostelecom are not always rosy, but this does not prevent it from remaining a major Internet service provider - the vast majority of reviews lie shamelessly. Therefore, tens of thousands of people use its services.

First, we'll look at Wi-Fi tariff plans:

“Classic” – per-megabyte pricing, 1.3 rubles/MB.
“Unlimit 128” – speed up to 128 kbit/sec for 13 rubles/day.
“Unlimited 256” – speed up to 256 kbit/sec for 16 rubles/day.
“Unlimited 512” – speed up to 512 kbit/sec for 19 rubles/day.
“MAX” – speed up to 1024 kbit/sec for 570 rubles/month.

The tariffs are not the cheapest, but for many subscribers this is quite enough.

Tariff plans for fiber connection:

“Internet up to 30 Mbit” - a simple basic option with a subscription fee of 570 rubles/month.

The first three tariffs include an anti-virus key for one month as a gift.

Connection via telephone line is carried out according to the following tariff plans:

“Home Internet 2” – access speed up to 2 Mbit/sec for 700 rubles/month.
“Home Internet 5” – access speed up to 5 Mbit/sec for 850 rubles/month.
“Home Internet 10” – access speed up to 10 Mbit/sec for 950 rubles/month.
“Gaming” – access speed up to 20 Mbit/s, gaming options are provided as a gift. The subscription fee is 850 rubles/month. It is possible to rent a router for 1 rub/month.

Rostelecom also regularly launches marketing campaigns to make connecting to the network more profitable.

Additional issues of “Family History”

"Family History" is a family fare. You can connect up to 5 numbers (1 main and 4 additional). Additional numbers consume the packages of the main number and do not have a monthly fee.

The detailed description states: “The monthly fee for the use of each additional group number is free.” And in the notes below the following is already indicated: “The monthly fee for using each additional number of the “Family History” group is 50 rubles.”

Rostelecom technical support confirmed exactly the second option - an additional 50 rubles to the subscription fee of the main number for each additional number connected to the “Family History” tariff.

Tariff plans for

We continue to consider Rostelecom tariffs in the Perm region, moving to digital television. gives subscribers access to karaoke, viewing control, online viewing of channels on the Rostelecom website, as well as a large archive of films and TV series. To connect, you need to purchase or rent a set-top box.

Current tariff plans:

“YOUR Starter” - the package includes 122 channels, payment for it is 320 rubles/month.
“YOUR Optimal” - the package includes 146 channels (added channels for children, sports fans and music lovers), payment for it is 420 rubles / month.
“YOUR Advanced” - the package includes 175 channels (added channels with films, news, useful information), payment for it is 620 rubles / month.
“YOUR Maximum” - the package includes 215 channels (added channels with films, football and 18+ content, as well as subscriptions to films), payment for it is 1,700 rubles/month.
“YOUR Premium” - the package includes 55 channels (this includes federal TV channels and channels with films - nothing more), payment for it is 620 rubles / month.

Additional channels, subscriptions and ordered films are paid separately.

Tariff plans for

This service involves the use of another set-top box - it can connect to the Internet via wire or Wi-Fi, allowing you to use any provider. Opportunities – information services on the TV screen, access to video rental, viewing control. The quality of communication depends on the bandwidth of the Internet channel used. You can take the set-top box with you to your dacha or on a trip around Russia - it works with any Russian providers.

“YOUR Starter 2.0” is a junior version that includes about 100 TV channels. Payable monthly – 320 rubles.
“YOUR Optimal 2.0” is the most profitable option, including about 125 TV channels. Payable monthly – 420 rubles.
“YOUR Advanced 2.0” is an option for well-rounded people and family subscribers, including about 150 TV channels. Payable monthly – 620 rubles.

Subscribers from Perm who wish to connect to a landline telephone are offered unlimited and time-based tariffs. The first are aimed at active subscribers, the second - at those who talk in limited mode. Let's pay attention to unlimited tariff plans:

“Unlimited” - the tariff is designed for those who make a lot of calls within Perm. The number of local calls is not limited. The subscription fee is 410 rubles/month.

Cellular communications from Rostelecom will please you with affordable rates for calls and mobile Internet. Perm subscribers are offered traditional and package tariffs designed for users of various activity levels. Let's look at them in more detail.

The “Supersimka FREE” tariff plan is provided without a subscription fee. Calls to landlines and mobile phones within Perm and the Perm region cost 95 kopecks/min. There are no minute packages on board the tariff, but there are small traffic packages - 10 MB for 15 rubles each. The cost of SMS in the region is 1.7 rubles/piece, in Russia – 2.5 rubles/piece. The cost of long-distance calls is 10 rubles/min, calls within the network within the Russian Federation are 2 rubles/min (to mobile and landline calls).

As for, instead of a controller with sensors, a camera with a Wi-Fi connection is used - it records in the Rostelecom cloud storage, which ensures complete data safety. You can upload up to 5 videos with a duration of up to 30 minutes from the system per month. The camera successfully sees in the dark, and for the system to work, you need a channel with a speed of 512 kbit/sec (not necessarily from Rostelecom).

The subscription fee is 300 rubles/month. The camera is sold under the following conditions (with delivery in Perm):

For full price – 4990 rubles. This amount includes 12 months of service. The terms are available to subscribers of any providers.
In installments – 300 rubles/month for two years. Conditions are available for new and existing Rostelecom subscribers.
