Rostelecom tariffs for Internet and television for 2021

Today we are considering another rather old tariff plan, which was available to Rostelecom subscribers using cellular services from the all-Russian telecommunications provider. Within its framework, quite interesting conditions were provided, so the “Special” tariff from Rostelecom should be considered in detail.

Basic conditions

As always, we start directly with the most important and priority conditions for the majority of subscribers. Here they are:

• There is no subscription fee for this offer;
• Incoming calls and messages are not charged;
• Outgoing calls are billed on a per-second basis;
• When initially connecting to the tariff, the advance payment is 50 rubles;
• There is no possibility to connect a landline number;
• A federal telephone number is provided to subscribers upon request and does not imply any additional fees.

Unlimited Internet

On many Rostelecom tariffs, the Internet is indicated as “Unlimited”, but with a certain package at maximum speed. This implies that after the end of this package, 15, 30, 40 or 50 GB, the Internet will become unlimited, but with limited speed. But Rostelecom’s detailed description of tariffs states:

Tariffs “Whole Story”, “Family Story” and “Endless Story”:

The “500 MB+” option is activated when the main package of Internet traffic under the tariff plan has been used up, if there are more than two days left before the end of the tariff period. The option provides up to 5 additional Internet traffic packages of 500 MB each. After all 5 packages are used up, access to the Internet is suspended.

Tariff "Online history":

If the volume of Internet traffic included in the package is exceeded, Internet access is suspended until the next subscription fee is charged according to the tariff plan. To resume using the Internet, you need to connect an additional Internet package.

Rostelecom technical support informed me that on tariffs where “Unlimited” is indicated, the main mobile Internet package is first consumed, and then “unlimited mobile Internet” is activated with a speed limit of up to 128 Kbps. It sounds logical, but the official website states completely different conditions...

How to connect to the Rostelecom Internet company

The connection master will connect the cable to the switchboard, lead it into the apartment and, if necessary, lay it around the apartment (by agreement). The range of services provided also includes setting up a computer and router, as well as connecting additional functions (Personal Account, Parental Control) and setting up Anti-Virus.

It is possible to live without the Internet, but it is very difficult. Send a letter, listen to music, find the phone you need, or watch your favorite movie - any resident of Russia faces such needs. If you work with information, are a socially active person, have many friends who you can’t always call, don’t hesitate, but better get connected!

Package of minutes

Virtual mobile operators tend to make a normal package of minutes, which is spent on any numbers in Russia, including landlines. With Rostelecom, on most tariffs, a package of minutes is spent only on local mobile numbers, with the exception of the “Endless Story” tariff (you can call to any numbers in Russia) and the “Family History” tariff (you can call any local numbers, including landlines).

In other cases, you will have to pay separately for calls to city numbers, as well as to numbers in other regions (with the exception of calls to Rostelecom numbers - they are free and unlimited).

Conditions as reported

Regarding the use of messages, the “Special” tariff provides the following prices:

• Sending messages to any numbers of telephone operators in the Russian Federation - 15 kopecks (for the first 1.5 thousand messages during a calendar month);
• Sending messages to numbers of any operators (using a quota of 1.5 thousand messages) – 1.40 rubles;
• Sending messages in international format – 2.48 rubles;
• Sending messages to numbers of international operators when recipients of messages are located in Russia – 2.48 rubles;
• Sending multimedia messages with a message size of up to 100 kilobytes – 2 rubles;
• Sending MMS over 100 kilobytes and up to 200 kilobytes – 4 rubles;
• Sending large MMS exceeding 200 kilobytes in size – 6 rubles.

Additional issues of “Family History”

"Family History" is a family fare. You can connect up to 5 numbers (1 main and 4 additional). Additional numbers consume the packages of the main number and do not have a monthly fee.

The detailed description states: “The monthly fee for the use of each additional group number is free.” And in the notes below the following is already indicated: “The monthly fee for using each additional number of the “Family History” group is 50 rubles.”

Rostelecom technical support confirmed exactly the second option - an additional 50 rubles to the subscription fee of the main number for each additional number connected to the “Family History” tariff.

Tariff plans for home Internet and television in 2021

Rostelecom provides three home Internet packages to choose from: Express 100, Express 200, and Gaming. The first two differ from each other only in speed. “Gaming” has many additional bonuses .

All three options also include 100 GB on YandexDisk. By purchasing a “game set” you can get, among other things, various bonuses for such games as: World of Tanks, World of Warships, Linage2, Point Blank and Blade & Soul .

You can connect to your home Internet by installing a free router. In essence, this is rent and after a year and a half you will have to pay 1 ruble. in a day.

To comfortably watch movies and TV shows, the operator offers to use one of four main packages: “Starter”, “Optimal”, “Advanced”, “Maximum”. They differ from each other in the number of available channels, and accordingly, in price.

Personal opinion

I didn't like Rostelecom's tariffs. And that's why:

1. There is no normal unlimited Internet on any of the tariffs, although it is advertised. Yes, the brief description states that there is a package at maximum speed, but what will happen next was only found out in technical support.
2. There is no normal description of the conditions. I looked at a lot of tariffs from various regular and virtual mobile operators, but I have never seen such an incomprehensible description. What does it cost? “The “500 MB+” option is activated
   when the main package of Internet traffic according to the tariff plan
   . It is clear that these note points were simply copied from somewhere and inattentively edited. And a bonus is that this condition is incorrect, since after using up the main package, unlimited access is activated at speeds of up to 128 Kbps.
3. Rostelecom's tariffs almost completely copy Tele2's tariffs. And why, one might ask, is Rostelecom needed then? You can switch to an MVNO if it has advantages over regular telecom operators, since simply in terms of communication quality, MVNOs cannot beat mobile operators due to the fact that they operate on the same base stations.

Package "MegaPower Pro"

A super powerful and high-quality tariff plan that will satisfy the needs of almost any user. Via optical fiber, data transfer rates can reach up to 200 Mbit per second. You will also be able to use the provider’s equipment (router) for a nominal fee of 1 ruble per month. As a gift for one month, you will be provided with a powerful and modern antivirus that will protect your operating system from malicious files and programs. The cost of the tariff plan is 500 rubles per month.

Package "Alternative"

Has two connection options. If you prefer to connect via an optical fiber line, the data transfer speed will reach up to 100Mbps. You can use the router for just a ruble a month, and you will get a modern and powerful antivirus for one month completely free of charge (in the future you can extend it for an additional fee). The cost of the tariff plan is 549 rubles per month.

If you need to connect using VDSL/FTTx/xPON technology and pay less money, you can choose the connection option for 449 rubles every month. A router for 12 rubles per year and an antivirus for a month as a gift are also included in the package price.

Package "Game"

Gamers and testers - the Rostelecom provider has developed a special “Gaming” tariff exclusively for you, which will make you believe in the impossible! Internet speed – up to 100 Mbit per second! When you connect, you receive various souvenirs and bonuses from your favorite games, including the famous “World pf Tanks” and “Word of Warships”. The router is provided for a nominal fee of 1 ruble per month. The cost of the tariff plan is 850 rubles per month.

Promotional offer “Two Internets”

Paying for the Internet and a cell phone at the same time is quite expensive, especially if you use the services of one operator. Rostelecom has developed a special offer “Two Internets”. You can use the Internet at a speed of 100 Mbit/sec (fiber optic line), use mobile communications and a router (12 rubles per year) for only 325 rubles per month instead of 650.

A speed of 60 Mbit/sec (VDSL/FTTx/xPON technology) can be available to you “in a package” with high-quality and inexpensive mobile communications for only 250 rubles per month instead of 500. The cost of the router is 1 ruble per month.

Based on your needs and ability to pay, you can choose a tariff that is beneficial to you.

The lower the cost, the fewer internal options - SMS, minutes of calls and gigabytes of Internet traffic.

Tariffs in Moscow:

• monthly payment: for 199 rubles – 200 minutes of talk time and 2 GB;
• for 399 – 500 minutes and 12 GB;
• for 799 – 1500 minutes and 30 GB;

Home phone

As a rule, it comes at a double tariff with the Internet. Separately, the price grid in Moscow is as follows:

• 58 rubles per minute of conversation - Time-based option, when you pay only if you make calls;
• 150 rubles/month. – package of 350 minutes and 0.48 rubles per minute;
• 318 – unlimited for a month;
• 499 – unlimited even for communication with other regions.

How to connect and disconnect Rostelecom TP

Now let’s take a closer look at the process of activation/deactivation of new tariff packages from Rostelecom:

• On all L and XL - to connect “L” you need to send an SMS with code 21 to number 220, for XL - code 22; You can disconnect the number by dialing *105*0*9ХХХХХХХХХ#;
• Home Internet - to purchase a tariff package, you can go to the Rostelecom website, open the “Internet” tab, and select the 'Tariffs' item there. A window will open with several options, select the one you need and fill out the application form. There is an item about a Wi-Fi router, if one is needed, then check the box. After this, the operator will call you to clarify all the details;
• Television services - to use 2.0 format tariffs you need special equipment, namely the “Interactive TV 2.0 with Wi-Fi” set-top box . It costs 3,990 rubles, but with delivery it will be about 4,500. In order to connect a certain set, you need to go to the set-top box menu, find the “Service Management” item, and then “TV packages”. Select the one you need, then click “Connect”;
• For a home phone, you can connect to unlimited tariffs from the Rostelecom website. We find the “Phone” tab there, there we select the “Local calls” item. These tariffs will be the first in the list, fill out an application for the desired one, and wait for a call from the operator. There you can also check the telephone box if one is not available.

Pros and cons of the “Basic” tariff

• Of course, the main advantage is the absence of a subscription fee. Both explicit and hidden, by analogy with “Super MTS”, which seems to have no subscription fee, but has a default option for 9 ₽ per day.
• Quite inexpensive cost of outgoing calls and SMS for subscribers. According to the table for comparing tariffs without a monthly fee, “Basic” takes an honorable third place in terms of cheapness of communication.

Minuses

• The main disadvantage of the “Basic” tariff is the inability for subscribers to connect any services and options to save on calls, traffic or SMS messages. There are absolutely no options for this tariff.
• There is no possibility of changing the tariff to any other from Rostelecom.
• Inconvenience of connecting to the tariff (see how to connect).

Bottom line

The “Basic” tariff will be of interest to people who rarely use mobile communications. Call a couple of times a day, write a few SMS a month and that’s it. I would recommend it, first of all, to pensioners, who mostly get calls from relatives, or to elementary school students, who get calls from their parents. By answering only incoming messages, you can minimize your mobile communications expenses to almost zero.

Advantages and disadvantages

Rostelecom’s “Basic” package, in the opinion of most subscribers, is inferior to other available offers. But, this solution will be ideal for less active users. The tariff is especially popular among pensioners, where older people do not need to go online or send SMS. Also, among the advantages there is an acceptable cost for the services provided.

Among the disadvantages, many subscribers noticed that the tariff does not allow activating additional services that allow you to save on calls and the Internet. The second drawback is an uncomfortable connection, which will be discussed in detail below.

Digital TV

Description. The basic tariff plan called “Popular” allows you to enjoy 109 channels on a variety of topics. Each user will be able to find a channel to suit their preferences. The subscription includes such popular services as HD premium, Amedia Premium channels, a football channel, a separate “For Adults” channel and much more.

Price. Main channels will cost 230 rubles per month. An additional subscription costs from 115 to 380 rubles, depending on the number of additional channels included in it.

Clarifications

Negative reviews from using the services of any broadband Internet connection operator are mainly associated with incorrect user choices.

Typical mistakes when choosing home Internet:

• the user does not have enough speed to perform everyday tasks, which leads to the need to change the tariff plan or activate additional services;
• the user selects a tariff plan whose channel cannot be used to its maximum. This contributes to unnecessary financial costs.
